TMP channel chart

In the reading WAY too much into things category: We and VS just went free preview for February, might we see the comcast and rainbow channels? Probably not, but hey, more food for thought.

I don't think free previews have much to do with contracts. However, Comcast and Dish did just some to an advertising agreement with Comcast.

If I remember correctly, Planet Green was free previewed the month e* added it (link here)

That probably had more to do with Discovery wanting to promote the format change. Planet Green SD would have appeared no matter what, because it was just a name/format change for Discovery Times or whatever it was called at that point.

I'm sure they already have the same deal worked out for when Discovery Health turns into OWN.

EDIT- I'm pretty sure the Comcast channels WILL be coming soon, I just don't think previews have anything to do with it. There's different previews every month.

The only thing that makes me wonder is why these were not in the 12/31/08 list. If Dish wants to add these, why not put these out there, too?

Looks like we know what temp 33 is....

Good catch!

I wonder why they let that one slip and none of the rest.

The "storm" could be here next week, but I'm betting the week of the 9th

Things might not have been set in stone yet. Maybe this advertising deal did have something to do with it.

Or maybe I'm totally wrong. But they are warming up a ton of stuff, and it just doesn't make sense for Comcast not to be in the mix since they seem to have a good relationship right now. Of course, since when does DISH make sense? :D

Hope Charlie doesn't get into a pricing dispute with the TMP channels! If so, we are screwed!

That is hilarious. That is a viable possibility when it comes to Charlie.

I want to know when we will have WPD HD? We already have WFN HD.
by the way WPD is Watch Paint Dry HD, if your interested.:D

I still can't figure out 46 & 50. Why would they bother to mirror 129 channels at 77? 77 should be getting 110 channels.

I'm going to make a bet...30-32 are Showtime channels, since Showtime-HD is one of the few HD channels already at 110. And 20-26 could be intended to move HBO channels from 129 to 110. I don't know if it matters much any more, now that they aren't still supporting MPEG-2 there...just a thought.

It's happened before. There have been several TMP channels that never materialized. Mojo was on a TMP channel at one time, as was The Movie Channel, I believe.

TMP E is still left over from last spring. I don't remember if we ever found out what was on it.

TMPs are the new equivalent of the old Dishplayer Hidden Guide...only with that, everyone could actually tell what they were.

I agree, 46 and 50, very strange. RSNs, maybe?

Time for me to go out on a limb.

42-44: Fox- Speed, FX, and Fuel

47-49: Comcast. Perhaps the channels book ending this block are Comcast RSNs? Just an out of left feld theory.

51-57 Viacom, including BET

I'm sure Showtime is their somewhere, too. Maybe 30-32

I'm going to go out on a limb (and probably prove the opposite true) that the Showtimes won't show up until April or May. The are keeping HBO and Starz as the special offer premiums until the end of April. After that (starting in May), they are only confirming that HBO will be there, with the second premium TBD.

IF we wanna live in a dream world, wouldn't it be great if the 30-35 (sans CI) would be rainbow... AMC, IFC, We, and the restructured voom channels (Voom and Rush). Sorry, the devil made me say that.

All I know is that I am glad to have gotten an eastern arc install a few weeks ago (if the 129/77 channels are also lit as well)

Those 129/77 channels can't stay that way. There are a ton of HD subs who don't get either. That's why they are puzzling.

On the other hand, all those 110 only channels need to go to 77 or 72.5 eventually.

You having Eastern Arc won't make a difference one way or another. Eventually, everything needs to go to all three HD combos. (110/119/129, 61.5/110/119, and 61.5/72.5/77). At this point, Easter Arc has the FEWEST HD TMPs. When that changes, we'll know there's more getting ready to go.

At this point, there's 20 that can go live at any time.

Hmmm...aren't the missing Comcast RSNs Philli, Southeast and Northwest?

Northwest could be 45 on 129 only. Philli and Southeast could be on both. (Would Southeast be in EA territory?)

Southeast would be EA territory, as ATL locals are also on 61.5.

But it would shock and amaze me for Comcast to give up on CSN Philly being exclusive. Not unless Dish was paying around $10/sub. Comcast Philly would have thousands of sudden cancellations.
