Universal LNB Vs C/Ku standard LNB

I've been trying to search the Forum for a thread on Universal LNB's vs a C/KU standard LNB. But every one has those terms in thier signatures to the search is painfull.

Could someone please explain the differance for me?

Here are a few types of LNB's:

Standard Ku Band:
LO: 10750
Range: 11700 MHz - 12200 MHz

Universal Ku Band:
LO: 9750 / 10600
Range: 10700 MHz - 11700 MHz and 11700 MHz - 12750 MHz

Standard C Band:
LO: 5150
Range: 3700 MHz - 4200 MHz or (3400 MHz - 4200 MHz) depends on the LNB.

The main reason for a universal LNB is for a few Atlantic birds.
A standard LNB is more useful if you plan on having more that 4 LNBs or if you are not interested in the few Atlantic birds that use a universal LNB.

Universal LNB's are a necessity in Europe as it allows a satellite to use twice as much space for channels since there is a low band and a high band.

Here in the US other than PAS9 and a couple other satellites over the atlantic, its not needed.
