I just learned of a few software updates which will be going out this Thursday.

Here is whats going out and whats being updated...

AT&T HomeZone M102 - Misc. changes / fixes - Will be Spooled at around 12AM

ViP622 L360 - Shared view fix, video jitter, a/v synch fixes - Will be Spooled around 12AM

DP721 L321 - 118.7 fixes, graphics updates, DPP1K.2 Triple LNBF support, EMM Seg. Fix, Misc. - Will be spooled at around 9AM

As always while things are scheduled it does not necessarly mean they will be spooled at that time, and sometimes software is delayed or repackaged for a number of reasons at the last moment. :)

There you have it, thanks for being a SatelliteGuy!

Woo Hoo!!!

I'm looking forward to the video jitter being gone. Are they ever going to allow archiving to a USB drive. This is getting silly.

Yes they are but its still planned for later this year. From what I know the problem isnt the software but they want to make sure all their program suppliers are happy and signed off before releasing it.

Oh great! :river That'll never happen. !sadroll

With words like "all" and "signed off", you might as well forget about that happening.

Isn't is easier to do and ask forgiveness than to wait for permission? :D

Instead of worrying about encrypting the programs, why not just record the entire transport stream? Sure it would take more space, but if you can add an arbitrary amount of space that would be a moot point.

If you recorded the entire stream you would be trying to copy 3 HD streams at once, which would be very huge.

Actually the enternal hard dries work much like the pocketdish units as far as security goes. :)

nothing listed on *the page* yet, usually when they are about to spool it will be there before, so i guess we'll see. they've been slow with updates in july, i'll bet they take vacation in july.

There is supposed to be a MAJOR software release for the 622 around October 1st, this new software version is suppoed to have some new stuff in it (what new stuff I don't know)

Of course October 1st is the date they are aiming for, if they hit it I will be really surprised.

My understanding of how these things work is that the stream gets decrypted before it hits the internal hard drive. So they have to encrypt again before allowing it to be offloaded. They also re-encrypt the on-demand stuff.
