I think my bill may go down $1. I get locals. Did I figure this up correctly?

Current Pricing

$57.99 Classic Silver 200 With DVR
$12.00 612 DVR Receiver
$10.00 HD & Platinum
---------------
$79.99

February 1st

$52.99 America's Top 200
$ 0.00 Free 722
$ 6.00 DVR fee
$10.00 612 DVR fee
$10.00 HD & Platinum
---------------
$78.99

You are correct. And IF you had a second 622/722 like me, the increase would be $6.00, not $10 which someone keeps saying.

it appears this price scheme penalizes the customers with the best systems, that is the most DVRs.........:(

I will be making some changes to lower my bill i have the 200 channels now with no locals for $48.00 plus $15.00 3 receivers that's $63.00. With the new pricing i will be paying over $75.00 a month.

Comcast and Verizon Triple play looks good every day now for $99.00 month.

2, 301
1, 501 DVR
1, 508 DVR

Maybe Charlie is getting ready to sell DISH and he wants the average cost per sub to go up. IF equipment cost is figured into the average cost per sub. You know in order to make it look attractive to a potential buyer. OF course that scheme will back fire because subs will just drop the extra duo dvrs off their accounts and they will pay less than they do now.

its more likely they will get mad and cancel altogether.

even if they get less from their new provider spite is a powerful tool.........

when your a upset customer

Instead of doing gets and puts, I calculated from scratch.

I currently have AEP w/locals, 1 722K, 1 622 and 1 612.

So by the calculation I get:

$99.99 + (Free 722k) + $6 DVR Fee + $17(622) + $10(612) = $132.99

I currently pay $131.98 (not counting taxes of course). So my bill will be going up $1.01. I can live with this especially if Dish is going to give us some new features that Scott seems to imply.

Did I calculate it correctly? I don't think this all that bad and I agree that they are trying to simplify things. Does the HD+Platinum fee still remain? If so, I missed another 10 bucks which would not be good. See current bill attached.

Thanks

622, 622HZ, 722, 722k (Dish Duo HD DVR's) $17 Each
522, 625 (Dish Duo DVR's) $17 Each
222, 222k (HD Duo Receiver) $14 Each
322 (Duo Receiver) $14 Each
612 (HD Solo DVR Receiver) $10 Each
512 (Solo DVR Receiver (going to be announced at CES)) $10 Each
510 (Solo DVR Receiver) $10 Each
211, 211k, 411 (HD Solo Receiver) $7 Each
501, 508 (Solo DVR Receiver) $7 Each (I don't believe there is a DVR fee for these)
301, 311, 381 (Solo Receiver) $7 Each

well one thing for sure..........

when any bill goes up most look shop and compare.......

so a large increase will likely cause AEP cancelations and risk churn.

hopefuly they arent that stupid.

but hey i bought a 722K off e bay, it was a good deal but its embeded smart card was a old one.

Just got my E bill today they had a charge on it for $49.99

they removed the charge after I pointed out I had no card to return..............

I currently have AEP and two 722K's. I watch a lot of movies, and I use both DVR's. I have never minded paying for something that I use, so I will most likely suck it up and pay what they want. I will not like it however.
I think Dish needs a new tag line, "Home of the best technology, and by god, we charge you for it"

Is this an accurate comparison to direct for four rooms with one dvr?

$114.99 Premier (Mar 2010)
$10 hd
$6 dvr
$15 (addtl'l receivers x 3)
Total - $145.99

$99.99 AEP
$10 HD
$6 dvr
$14 addt'l receiver
Total without multisport - $129.99
Total with multisport - $135.98

Team SatelliteGuys will be staring the "Horses" in the mouth next week at CES and might be able to pass some of your concerns to Dish...

That worked so well on HD-lite.

Good question, and I have the answer...

622, 622HZ, 722, 722k (Dish Duo HD DVR's) $17 Each
522, 625 (Dish Duo DVR's) $17 Each
222, 222k (HD Duo Receiver) $14 Each
322 (Duo Receiver) $14 Each
612 (HD Solo DVR Receiver) $10 Each
512 (Solo DVR Receiver (going to be announced at CES)) $10 Each
510 (Solo DVR Receiver) $10 Each
211, 211k, 411 (HD Solo Receiver) $7 Each
501, 508 (Solo DVR Receiver) $7 Each (I don't believe there is a DVR fee for these)
301, 311, 381 (Solo Receiver) $7 Each

Thats the order so the most expensive receiver will be the primary receiver on your account and as always your first receiver is included in your programming base price. :)

Ok, I think I got it now for my service after Feb 1st

62.99 for 250 Package
722K (most expensive of the two so zero fee)
612 10 Dollars
DVR 6.00
HD/Platimum 10.00, but I got in the the "Free platimum/HD" so I have 10.00 credit

So 62.99 (250 package)+10 (612 fee)+6.00 (DVR fee)=78.99 plus a few dollars with tax, if I am right price seems ok with me with two HD DVRS and three TV's. The ten dollar HD credit is big right now, glad I got in on that! Thanks to scott and Sat guys for that

Though the price AEP/DVR no fee waive, put me over seeing there was no real reason to have AEP now.

Probably, they will come up with another 'loyalty' promo and let you get $10 for a year off if you call in or chat with them. In exchange for another 2 year commitment. If they could do that, they could put the $120 in customer acquistion and still have a higher cost 'commitment' from the subscriber.

This would make Dish almost exactly like Comcast. I looked at triple play a while back, but by the time I would have payed all that money in the second year and averaged it out, it was more expensive that doing another 2 years with Dish with a 'loyalty' discount.

I am sure they will be prepared and free with the credits when people start calling in those first few months. It also means we will DEFINITELY have new HD before February 1. Gotta give something to get something, huh?
