UHD was being shown on the show floor today, it was in the guide of their 622. When we have our demo at 3pm pst I'll get more info about it.

The one thing all the dish people have been saying over and over is all new HD will be mpeg4 regardless of whats up there now. That includes NYC, LA, and all the other HD LIL. Also it includes espn2hd, uhd, and the 5 new voom.

When told espn2hd was currently up in mpeg2 we were told 'well feb 1st it will be mpeg4'. Same with the NYC and LA locals. Now of course things seem to change there daily, so there still might be hope, but I would bet all the new stuff launched in Feb will be mpeg4.

Well, I'd like to ask you - how Dish provide content to those displays at CES ?
If via satellites, then we knows UHD and ESPN2 HD encoding parameters; if not - your call.

They were actually hooked to satellite feeds, and yes all the content shown was mpeg2 since we know none of the "new" hd pack channels are mpeg4 yet.

The receivers had some sort of engineering subscription, yet they couldn't view the HD PPV channel!

Well...Scott said we might get more HD-lite channels to go with ESPN2HD and UHD...I also noticed that ESPN2HD is uplinked at 9425 and UHD at 9427 (correct?), so what Lite-version-of-an-HD-channel-we'd-rather-see-in-full-HD channel might we see on 9426? They must've skipped it for some reason.

There's still several channels coming in 2006 that dish didn't announce, perhaps they hope to offer them but don't have an agreement for them.

Food Network HD
MHD

Plus I know the folks with premium movie packages would like the missing premium HD channels to be added.

And sports fans would like more RSN HD feeds available (NESN will be doing every red sox game in HD)
