Welcome to the NEW HD RADIO FORUM! Greetings :) Let me personally welcome you all to the NEW HD Radio forum. HD Radio???? you may ask.. Yes HD RADIO! I have personally heard hd radio my self and it blows AM and FM away. AM sounds like a CD, FM sounds like a CD too!!! As with normal HDTV, HD Radio stations have the option of multi casting other channels. Some of these channels are commercial free, But in the future that may change. Feel free to talk about all topics HD radio related. I look forward to getting this exciting new technology in my home. The technology between Normal HDTV signal and HD RADIO is identically the same. The broadcaster digitizes the signal and then its sent via there antenna to you and decoded by your hd radio unit. The only difference is its radio and not TV! I do see this replacing analogue radio but not as quick as the transition from analog to digital in the television world. I do see hd radio catching on as its just becoming more mainstream and the sound quality is fabulous! I am currently looking for a home unit for myself but don't want to spend the money to get one as HD radio is still pricey. As it becomes more mainstream prices will come down! Also, not only is this product for the home but also for your car. Prices for your car is a little better. Right now the big hump for HD radio will be Sirius and XM. I Find my self not wanting HD radio for the car for that fact, because I have Sirius in the car but I would rather have it for the home :). So Welcome to the NEW HD radio forum and kick back and relax. :)
