Why is Directv's audio levels on their channels so much lower than my cable providers? When i switch to ota or to my cable box from directv i have lower the volume drastically.. its ridiculously low anyone know why?

Probably because the DirecTV channels are delivering DD5.1 and the others are not. Dolby Digital has a lower average volume than regular stereo.

I watch Directv anywhere from -5.0db to 11db, depending on the channel. I watch Blu-rays at 0.0, so yeah they seem a little low.
