WildBlue Communications said Ken Carroll was named president and chief operating officer of the company, which is developing Ka-Band satellite spectrum for a broadband service set to launch next year.
Carroll joins WildBlue from his position as president and chief financial officer at Liberty Satellite and Technology, where he spent four years managing the operations and finances of the company. Carroll also served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at PrimeStar.
Carroll has been a member of WildBlue's board of directors prior to his appointment as president.
WildBlue also announced other key executives: Jim Elliot has been hired as vice president of infrastructure, Thad Mazurczyk has been named vice president of engineering; and Randy Thompson as vice president of space systems. Also joining WildBlue are Patrick Bailey, director of information technology, Joe Ducey, gateway director, and Lisa Gillenwaters, director of operations analysis.
