Thanks MysteryMan. Are there any higher up that could possibly sticky this thread as its the most popular one in this section. Not trying to step on toes, just thinking out loud. Thanks!

I posted it, too, but I mean a pop-up after the update or a shortcut to a data page
These late-month updates are previews, so they're probably more interested in whether your computer ends up compromised than giving you a heads-up on what's coming in a couple of weeks.

There are YouTubers who try to flesh out the updates. Britec is one that I suggest.

No new operating system features.

Perhaps a relief to see fewer updates (only 400) this month. Not because they aren't needed, but to reduce the download size and installation time.

  • 176 Elevation of Privilege Vulnerabilities
  • 11 Security Feature Bypass Vulnerabilities
  • 110 Remote Code Execution Vulnerabilities
  • 86 Information Disclosure Vulnerabilities
  • 12 Denial of Service Vulnerabilities
  • 21 Spoofing Vulnerabilities
I expect the updates will total well into four figures by year-end. That doesn't contemplate the general release of 26h2 in the next few months.

I think that is a good suggestion. My admin privileges are limited to certain forums here at Satelliteguys, so I can't do it.

Bleeping Computer's summary of the chaos:

438 Elevation of Privilege vulnerabilities
19 Security Feature bypasses
258 Remote Code Execution vulnerabilities
173 Information Disclosure vulnerabilities
56 Denial of Service vulnerabilities
16 Spoofing vulnerabilities

Two are zero-days that were confirmed to be in the wild.

This is atop more than 200 patches for Edge and Azure-related products released in the last week or so.

Today's patch isn't so much a Windows "security" update as an emergency patch for Remote Desktop that they screwed up a while back.

A few other obscure issues were addressed, but they don't seem like out-of-band material. Maybe I'm missing something.

It isn't a good look for a company trying to convince people to run RDP on virtual Windows machines to have both things broken.

Thanks for the heads up!

I've had 26H2 for a few weeks now from the enablement package. Not much of a change, most of the improvements have been slowly rolled out in 25H2 already.

Googlebooks. Anyone have an interest?
