FINALLY...

It's here. The Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD box is available in my area (Howard County, MD).

I called and am going to swap the box at the Comcast location. I'm suprised actually, I didn't think they would swap HD boxes. But hey, I'll try it anyways.

So, I will finally get DVI output as well as SD and HD active at the same time!!! :yes

Anything else extra that the 8300HD has that the 8000HD doesn't?

Man, thats hot!

Will I need a DVI to HDMI converter, or will Comcast provide it?

Hopefully it will fix my Dolby Digital problem (cuts out during playback -- a known issue with the 8000HD box).

Oh my... The Comcr@p saga continues...

Turns out there are NO BOXES at the local service center. AND they billed me for an ADDITIONAL HD/DVR starting yesterday. After clearing that up, I now have a service call on Oct 1st. Ugh. Oh, and they were nice enough to waive the service call fee. Gee, thanks.

Comcast connectivity in DFW?
