I just picked up an X2 just to have a cheap DVB-S2 receiver, and so far I haven't gotten it to respond to either of the remotes. I can navigate the menus using the buttons on the front, but I can't edit/remove channels or satellites. I'd like to get my dish aimed, but I need the remote to type in the tp frequency. It has the 9/17 firmware.

?Just to get the obvious out of the way, I DID try the batteries in another remote.

Ja,Ja thats funny , maybe the remote is left handed:)

FYI: I've had my X2 lock-up on me a couple times, I thought it was the remote, but I tested it with this easy test;

If you have a digital camera(may work with a phone too), turn it on like you were going to take a pic, look at the display(not the viewfinder), point the remote at the camera and press a button, you will be able to see the light from the IR.

So I power cycled the X2, and it worked fine.

or hold it up to an AM radio (if people still have those) and press a button.
you should here beeps in the radio speaker
