I have an onkyo txsr805 receiver hooked up to my xbox 360. this is the first receiver capable to dts lossless and dolby true hd. I tried watching poseidon and the departed on my xbox hddvd player. both of these have a dolby true hd soundtrack. when i tried them the dolby true hd didnt display on my receiver. is there some kind of update that needs to come out so this will work?

The 360 does not allow for an internal True HD or DTS-HD decoding/analog output, nor HDMI to allow for at least a pass-through of Dolby TrueHD and other high-end audio formats to an outboard decoder/compatible receiver.
In other words, no version of the 360 supports it.
