2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Well if there is a game 7, and i mean huge if..It will be here, so I am afraid you will have to come see me, while we are whooping your ass.

I said Wings in 5 I am sticking to it...Hell the hawks might not get one, they played their asses off today and got dominated..

As for the two stars again, I agree with you, but in all reality, they were having no luck..The wings having that last change killed you guys..The depth here is just too much for most teams..Good season though, keep your head up things are changing in Chicago..Future is bright.

Im pointing out the fact that the penaty's that should have been called wasnt, but as soon as chicago did somehting small they were hounded on.. Come see me game 7 when were done whooping your ass. Thats the bottom line because the mighty blackhawk said so :D

Our two stars had only played 8 min of ice time each by the third period. That was a wrong move in my book, they should have had alot more ice time.

Well at least your giving the Wings the benefit of the doubt that it will go 7.
Earlier I read your post that said the Hawks were gonna " Steamroll" the Wings, I figured you must have meant in 4 games, 5 tops ....

Quite honestly, you'll be PRAYING to make it to game 7.

The Wings played just about an Average game for them, wait till they get interested in the series.

Where's KCK when you need him, where I can talk to someone that has a team that plays tough and a fan doesn't whine every other trip down the ice.

Great series KCK, they'll be back :up

Games could be much different in Chicago, just like in Anaheim as the home team gets the last line change ....

The old adage is the Hawks (insert the Wings opponent) are fast and the Wings are old and slow ....
Well that has changed with the addition of many youngsters/ speedsters from the minors ..... Helm is the fastest skater out there . Draper may be an old man, but he STILL has his legs :up Sorry if I just called you old Drapes, your still younger than I am !

Detroit isn't Vancouver.

Your right, and out of the three times that Detroit played Vancouver, Detroit lost two of those games in over time to Vancouver. That shows that if Chicago can take on Vancouver, they can do the same with Detroit. I wouldn't be gloating just yet fellows. We have a long series to go. I'm predicting game two to go to Chicago with a split on the road.

If yo predicted anything less then Chicago winning in game 2 I would have been shocked..I know most people will not say it, but I promise you most are thinking it.

Chicago will not beat Detroit, they may get a game but that may be it..If I am wrong Ill take my medicine, but I do not think I am..

Am I a homer? Yes, but i did think the ducks would beat us in 7..So I do not always pick the Wings..I just think that we have too much experience, and that we are just that much better.

I also agree that these morons that say Detroit cannot skate with Chicago are just that, morons..The Wings can skate with anyway, and the best part is they can play any game that the other team wants to play.

Good luck in game 2 :):)

Welcome off the fence Jimbo!

Shifting focus back on tonight's game between Pittsburgh and Carolina...does anyone else, besides me, think that Carolina is going to win this series? In any case, this is going to be a close series and I think we'll see a couple of the games go into OT. We shall see.

Also, are there any Hurricane fans out there?

Just you and the state of North Carolina.

Penguins in 6.

To be honest, this time of year most people in NC are busy watching cars drive in circles and could care less about a real sport like hockey. However, I know several northerners who have relocated to the Raleigh/Cary area...but they still cheer for their Red Wings, Bruins, etc., and only follow the Hurricanes when they make it to the Conference Finals.

In any case, I think Carolina is going to surprise a lot of people.

If Ward is as tough to score on as he has been in the playoffs they will be tough for anyone to beat in a 7 game series

I'll bet there are more Red Wing fans in NC, then Hurricane fans. Sure seems that way in a lot of arenas we played in this year. Especially in the south.

You're probably correct...I meet former Detroiters who now reside in the Triangle area all the time. Unfortunately, Detroit used to have a population in excess of 2 million...but I digress. Anyway, I have always though that people south of the Mason-Dixon didn't understand hockey; it's hard to relate when you don't lace-up a pair of skates, grab a stick, and invate the local ponds and lakes during your childhood. I have lived on private lakes for many of the past 28-years in Virginia and only once (early 90s) did the lake freeze over. I pulled-out my skates, grabbed a hockey stick, and was taking slap-shots with tennis balls at a my dock. The neighbors (and their kids) thought I was nuts!

In 2006 during the Canes' cup run, the RBC was as loud as any NHL arena you can find. Some may have been transplanted hockey fans from the rust belt, but they were completely behind the Canes three years ago. It was wild.

Nice to see you post on the Stanley Cup Playoff thread.

Too bad you weren't around a few weeks ago- your Rangers had a VERY interesting series with the Capitals.
