The Ravens scare a lot of people because no matter how they have been doing, in big games they always have a knack for screwing up the other team's offense .

No.

The NFC is far from being determined. The Falcons are my current favorite in the NFC. I also like Philly.

As far at the AFC, as much as I hate to say it, the Steelers will be a force for the Pats to overcome.

I am a Falcons fan so I am rooting for them. I hope the Saints lose one more game before they come to Atlanta and play but the Saints seem to be putting it all together right now. The game with Baltimore will tell a lot about both teams. It is hard for me to see, at this point, anyone who can beat the Patriots in the AFC. But, that is why they play the games.

Tripping-gate gets stranger by the second...

Jets coach Sal Alosi's devious act was not a coincidence

Sal Alosi, the New York Jets coach who tripped Miami player Nolan Carroll that far-fetched. That actually happened.

Tight end Jeff Cumberland(notes), who was inactive Sunday, said it was nothing new for the players to line up next to each other as they did against the Dolphins, according to AP.

"Since the beginning of the year, we’ve been instructed to line up behind the (white) line,” he said, adding that it was only Alosi who has told them to do so."

As far as further punishment goes, Tannenbaum says the Jets are still gathering information and that "all options are on the table." A lot of people felt like Alosi should've been fired for acting so recklessly to begin with. Now that there's evidence pointing to this being a premeditated plan, things seem even worse.

The Jets interviewed the players who were standing near Alosi, but will not take any action against them. “This is just about Sal,” Tannenbaum said.

That the head coach didn't know of this plan smells fishy....at the moment...I do not know if I PERSONALLY cannot give this coaching STAFF the benefit of the doubt.

Ok, tripping is bad, no doubt.

But lining up along the sidelines out of bounds??? I don't see the problem.

C'mon, those players running down the field are supposed to stay INBOUNDS. If they are lazy and taking the play off by going out of bounds, then they should watch out who they might run in to.

I kinda agree with you, if the player intentionally goes out of bounds, why should they let him back in, as far as I'm concerned if you go out of bounds on your own you should be unable to come back on the playing field for the rest of the play.

They are not taking the play off, they are trying to get by the opponent without getting hit is all.

Fwiw, I'm NOT saying that what they did was right.

Guys....ALOT of times, these "gunners" do not go out of bounds on their own. The are pushed or blocked out of bounds. When this coach INTENTIONALLY did was create a wall where IF they are pushed/blocked out of bounds, it would be MORE difficult coming back in due to this wall. This shows intent.

He won't be cleared to practice until Saturday at the earliest, so it doesn't look promising that he will play...

It's obvious there was intent. Anyone who has stood on a football sideline in street clothes knows your first instinct is to move back or out of the way when the action gets close, not forming a wall..

There is no question of intent. The assistant coach admitted as such, and paid for it with his job.

It's a non-issue. The debt was paid, the league will move on.

Why didn't they fire Alosi immediately? After all, he misled the Jets (or so they claim) into believing this was an isolated case of poor judgment -- a bad trip -- not an orchestrated effort to crowd the sideline. Maybe, just maybe, the Jets are reluctant to fire him because they're concerned he might tell the whole truth and nothing but. Plus, they could be worried about a potential lawsuit.

Alosi gets no sympathy here, because, after all, it was a despicable act, tripping an opposing player. But this story transcends Alosi because it underscores the Jets' image as a undisciplined franchise.

The only reason this is even a story is because he's employed by the NEW YORK Jets. Any other city and it's not even a blip on the radar.

A nobody strength and conditioning coach may or may not have tripped a player who was out of bounds? Who cares! Why is this news?

Yeah, it's not like he videotaped another team's practice or something. That would be REALLY bad! :D

I've never understood why, when one incurs a penalty for a transgression - either against an individual or society - that incurring that penalty is called payment of a debt. When I pay a debt, the creditor gets what he is entitled to, whereas when someone is punished, the aggrieved gets nothing.

Strike up the band, sound the kazoo's... everyone's favorite Irishman and savior of the Cleveland Browns is back!!!!!!!

Let's hear it for COLT McCOY!!!!!!!!! He's back from an ankle injury!!!!

Starting QB: Colt McCoy to lead Cleveland for rest of the - 19 Action News|Cleveland, OH|Breaking News, Weather, Exclusives

It couldn't come at a better time against a better opponent- the Bengals, who not only haven't won a game since Randy Moss was a Patriot, but whose 10 game losing streak began against the Browns.

Talk about perfect timing.
