Can anyone tell me how I can get 7 satellite dishes to go to one reciever? what switches will I need and how to connect them, if it can be done. I am using Omegasat 5700. Right now I am getting 4 dishes with a 4x1 switch.

Most FTA receivers won't control an old Legacy SW21 switch. (2x1)
A few receivers will handle an 8x1 diseq, but then I can't recommend most of the 8x1 switches.
Though it has limitations (which are spelled out in the FAQ), the special 22khz switch and two 4x1 diseqc switches should work with any receiver.
That'll give you a total of eight inputs and one output for a single receiver.

according to the specs on the Omegasat, it will do Diseqc 1.1
so a 8x1 switch would work if you wanted to go that route. I use to use a Digiwave switch and it worked great

seeing as you already have a 4x1 diseqc switch just get yourself another 4x1 diseqc switch and a 22khz switch....this will let you connect up to 8 lnbs to one receiver....get an ecoda or EMP 22khz switch because i know for sure these two pass diseqc commands and will work with this wiring configuration....i have tried it myself....
I've run an AROC 8X1 (uncommitted DiSEqC switch)/(DiSEqC 1.1) in front of many different switches and motors with no problems. Best of all it was cheap less than $15.

Much of that info is 2 years old, so an update wouldn't hurt.

EMP Centauri 8x1, I have one tied to my old Fortec MercII. A bit spendy, it has worked for two years with no problems.

im still around. 7 lnbs to one dish is best done with an ecoda 22khz and 2 4x1s as was already stated. its definately the cheapest solution but doesnt allow for polarity control by any more than 2 recievers(would need dual lnbfs, 4 4x1s and 2 22khz switches). for that multiswitches would need to be employed.

Yes iceberg I was checking that out a few days back, but did not know how to use it. I need a eight by 2 switch? I was checking them out last night. But I ended up ordering the 4 22 khz and 2 4x1 so I can do it with the 8 dishes on one. I shoulda check the site here before i bought them, i would much rather use the 8x1 but i was not sure about it thanks.

Yes that sounds good. I have a 1.2m dish on galaxy17 91W, so I want try to catch a few linear birds also like amc9 83W and maybe 101W on the same dish. the I got a couple oval 36 er's maybe I can put another lnb on them and hit like 103W and the one that has abc news 89W I think. and galaxy 19, I'll make my own package. Sadoun had some single linear lnb's for $5 a piece so I got 3 of them, try'em out. T1500 telecomm
I don't recall the rule of thumb (kinda depends on the dish and its size), but getting two birds more than... maybe 10° apart, will be challenging.
It's always fun to experiment, so let us know how it works out.
Best results will be with both LNBFs off center, one to the east, one to the west.

Yeah that is what i want to do.
I've spent a small fortune on 4 22khz
switches and one 4x1 switch plus shipping
I did not know about the 8x1 in time.
thank you Aolon, I will do that. I am waiting for my stuff to get here from sadoun then if the weather is ok it'll be fun time.
You don't need 4 22khz switches, you only need one,
Receiver > 22khz > from 22khz into 2 4x1 diseqc switches, so now you basically have 8 diseqc ports
