i got my 3 out of 4
but Duke was not fake. honestly i knew nothing about Duke when i made that statement. but looked them over after that and found they had a great HC and other good ones on that staff.
and what a game.

USC faced a first-and-goal from the Wisconsin 9-yard-line early in the second quarter of a 7-7 game. Shaw handed the ball to Pharoh Cooper on an end around. Cooper then flipped the ball to Bruce Ellington on a reverse. Ellington lofted the ball across the field to Shaw, who caught the ball falling on his back in the end zone for a touchdown. Final score of the Capital One Bowl was USC 34, Wisconsin 24. Looking forward to watching Connor Shaw in the NFL.

I'm pretty proud of my Iowa Hawkeyes. They played their butts off against LSU and had a chance to beat them. LSU didn't have much respect for them, just like the rest of the nation.

From everything I read from the team, LSU respected Iowa. They certainly did after the game.

I thought the officiating was horrible and really hindered both teams. What conference were they from?

I think the refs were from the Big 12. I would hope LSU respected them after the game after how tough Iowa played defense. I just think the LSU players showboat WAY too much during the game. Honestly I think it's an SEC thing, their teams showboat more than any I've seen as a collective conference.

What was your thought on the defensive lineman from LSU that faked his injury? I know it didn't make a huge impact on the game but was still pretty dirty. I don't see why LSU had to slow down a "slow" B1G team when the SEC is so fast.

Oh, I see now. You're one of "those" fans. :D Have a nice off season.

Nah, I'm not one of "those" fans. I'm not placing the blame on anyone. I wasn't actually that disappointed after the lost because I thought the Hawks played better than anyone gave them credit for. Iowa football never seems to get much respect but they always seems to overachieve against SEC teams. It was pretty obvious that LSU had a lot more talent on their team but Iowa seems to prepare well for their bowl games and made it interesting.

You have to admit that injury was pretty bad though, right? I'm sure you've seen the pictures online. He grabs is left leg like it's in major pain and when he rolls over the staff is working on his right leg like that's in pain. Two plays later he makes a big impact and he's dancing around like a fool.

Is it your left leg?

Or your right?

At least in the NFL heavy fines and penalties to the team would result.
Will the NCAA or SEC do anything? Doubtful.

This was all over Twitter and Facebook shortly after it happened. I think it's pretty funny. It didn't have a big impact on the game though. The other hilarious video was of their QB on the sidelines eating his boogers. LOL

Fat bastard was cramping up! You people can't see that? ;) :D

Happens all the time. Don't know why the NCAA won't do something about it. Scared of momma filing a lawsuit probably. I see players often do this right after they've been badly outplayed by another player. It's like "Hey man, the only reason he caught that was because I pulled up lame." Then next play they're miraculously at full strength. :)

I suppose another reason the NCAA won't do anything about it is because fans only bitch and whine if it's the opponent doing it. They're perfectly fine with it when their guy does it. Lol. And don't any of you tell me you're not that way. ;)

I'd actually prefer not to see my team do it. I like to hold my favorite team and players to a higher standard. I know it sounds dumb but it's one of the reason I hate coaches like Urban Meyer, Saban and Kiffin. I know Kiffin doesn't coach now but I think they are dirty, cheating bastards. MSU's Dantonio is another one. If your player goes to jail he should not be playing 48 hours later.

Then you must've been upset after that win against Saban's LSU squad in the 2005 Capital One Bowl...you know, when the Hawkeyes held two potential defenders on that Hail Mary pass at the end.

Here's a better picture...

Funny thing is I don't remember any Iowa fans complaining then. ;) :D

An easy way to handle it, if a player's injury holds up the game, then that player must leave for the remainder of the half, not just a single play.
That way they have enough time to really "recuperate". After all, we don't want them to aggravate the "injury".

If that rule was in place, Aaron Murray might have been still playing for the rest of the season.

big difference between a holding penalty and faking an injury.

Not really, both could be called "dirty cheating bastards" if one is so inclined. ;)
nah, holding penalties usually get flagged, and aren't considered unsportsmanlike conduct. Faking an injury is, and why the NFL now will levy fines, suspend players, and/or take draft picks.
