How do you guys know exactly what you're getting on different channels? I've got a Samsung 4K set I bought new a few months back. When I'm watching any Dish channel and hit info on the tv. They all say 1920x1080/60i. Even on SD channels.

4K should say 3840x2160.

That is what you will see as an output from the H3, or any other hD receiver if you are set to output that way. If you are watching a 4K channel, like 540, on an H3 only you should see 3840x2160...

That's normal to see 1920x1080x60i on all regular HD and SD channels, as the Hopper upscales everything to 1080i when you select the 1080/4K setting. Only time is switches away from that is if you have a 1080p VOD/PPV or 4K VOD/PPV/Event. Quickest way I've found to get the resolution to display on my Samsung 4K is to hit sources, then reselect the current input, which makes it briefly display the banner. When I stopped by the 4K broadcast on 540 earlier, my TV showed it being a proper 3840x2160x60p.

As for the audio...same as the rest...90% of the audio broadcasting from left rear channel.

I must have an issue somewhere. I'm watching channel 540. I tried the sources trick you mentioned and it still only shows 1920x1080/60i.

Several things....You may need high speed HDMI cable..... Did you change h3 resolution to 4k ....Do you have hdmi cable plugged into 4k hdmi input on Tv..... On Sony TV you actually need to manually turn HDMI input on to 4k..... Some TV's only have 1 or 2 hdmi 4K inputs.

And just after I posted that last message, my screen went black for 2-3 seconds, came back on, and now shows 3840x2160/60p
I do have a Denon 1909 that I use. But I bypassed it for this show because it doesn't have 4K passthrough.

Just a thought, but did you restart the H3 after you did that? I wonder if the H3 didnt register the change until just a moment ago when it switched for you.

That's what I'm getting, good sound, black screen on 540.

Ditto the sound problem through home theater set-up - Dolby Digital. All voice-over on left rear channel, nothing on right rear channel, and a broad music and scenic sound stage across front three speakers. Wonderful picture. More please.

Yes sound was a total mess. Couldn't pinpoint issue on soundbar but voice was going down occasionally and sounded like reverb was on.
