Buckeyes Stud DB Shaun Wade opts out this morning ... will declare for NFL Draft

Does he know something, that hasn't been reported yet, like Big Ten voting to Not come back ?
Probably see a lot more from the Big Ten and Pac 12 doing that. This way they can just quit school and hire an agent. Since they're not playing, why bother with classes and NCAA restrictions.

Ja’marr Chase did exactly this at LSU. A couple of other Jrs did as well. As the season gets pushed further back, or if the season stalls for whatever reason, I imagine you’ll see a lot more players following suit.

Those with NFL talent are likely to declare, so that they can get an income from an agent. Players below that level should keep their scholarships and stay in school.

I'm sure there will be plenty that do that in the Big Ten, particularly if your an NFL talent that won't be in the potential Playoffs.

To be honest, don't blame them.

If you were going to go pro after this year, might as well do it now since their school isn't playing. With no way to improve your draft stock, what's the point in sticking around (the exception being if you were on track to actually graduate by then).

In Wade's case, he came back this year, could have gone Pro last year ...
He wanted to Graduate (which he did in June)
He's been waiting around to see if they are going to play this year and finally said, they STILL haven't decided, he's out . (had they quit dragging thier feet, he was in).
Now, it sounds like the Big Ten will vote today (Monday afternoon) if they Do come back, maybe he'll change his mind and stay, don't know ...
I would imagine all these guys are talking to agents, nothing wrong with that, as long as they don't sign with one.
I guess well wait and see what the Big Ten does today.

Then I definitely understand his decision.
Oh, I have no problem with him leaving, thats his call ... however, I can also see him coming back if the Big Ten changes thier mind THIS WEEK with an answer ...

As for the Team Fans, He was the glue that they KNEW would hold the Defense together this coming year while the others get up to speed ... a Bunch of young guys will be playing on the D* side this year ..
I know the Coaches were happy to have him back as well.

I'm thinking we heard about this several months ago .... think they are all fine by now if they were affected at all.
I remember that, something about 15 or so players.

The latest announcement was to state that they had contracted it already, as in past tense. Currently only 3 or 4 have the virus.

Ed Orgeron started his news conference Tuesday by confirming that three or four of the team's 105 players are currently sidelined with the virus, but overall the reigning national championship team is "very healthy."

However, later in the interview while sharing how the team has to make adjustments due to the virus, he shared more information.

"I think most of uh ... not all of our players but most of our players have caught it, so I think that hopefully they don't catch it again and hopefully they're not out for games," Orgeron said.

Woohoo!!! I guess the threats of lawsuits against the Big Ten made the commissioner come to his senses.

Looks like the Pac12 players are trying to replicate what happened with the Big Ten.

With only 8 games, I wonder if the Big Ten will do like the SEC and protect their top teams by only giving them bottom feeders from the opposing division for the extra 2 games. Or are they keeping the regular conference schedule for this year?

I do like how they're giving a 9th game to everyone during the Big Ten Championship game, and not only the division champions. Be nice if that became a regular thing for all the conferences.

The Big Ten will follow what Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez called an "8+1" schedule, featuring eight regular-games followed by a ninth cross-divisional game for every team to be played the same weekend as the Big Ten Championship game.

The cross-divisional matchups will be decided based on each team's divisional standing at the end of the season.

As usual, the top team in the east will play the top team in the west for the championship, but this year all the other teams will be matched up, as well, with the second-place teams facing off, the third-place teams facing off, and so on.

I personally think the 9th game is ridiculous outside of the Championship game.
Another opportunity to see players Opt Out ....
Hopefully no one gets injured and ruins a NFL career.
