Does anybody know what's up with Google GPS, Latitude, Maps, etc..?

Thanks for the input. I'm using an original Motorola Droid on Verizon. Yes, the GPS feature is on. As noted in the first post, these features worked very well up until about 3 months ago. My phone is not the only one having the issues. My wife's phone and my father-in-law's phone also have...

Does anybody know what's up with Google GPS, Latitude, Maps, etc..?

Lately we (me, my wife, and her dad) have had trouble with Google Latitude, Maps, Google weather, etc. My wife can't use her runkeeper app because location can't work, latitude doesn't check in properly for us, weather can't locate based on the coordinates the phone is reporting. I can't find...

Asking for any opinions on Thirtyseven4 antivirus

My work is looking at Thirtyseven4 antivirus. My wife, a technology director at a small school is using it and she loves it. I would like to know from any of you sho have knowledge or experience with it what your opinion is. They seem to pride themselves on catching scareware, which is the...

    Picture Issues Tonight?

I had somewhat similar issues earlier, but turned out to be a slightly loose HDMI cable. Then two days ago on the NATGEO HD channel both picture and sound would flash off and there would be some sound buzzing electronic type noise for a second before flashing back on. I finally got tired of it...

    froyo for droid leaked

Okay Rocky, I'm running BBV0.4 now. I took the plunge and rooted a few minutes ago. I'm just waiting right now for the market to finish downloading all my apps I had pre-root. Then I'll have to go back and set it up with the beautiful widget and wallpaper, etc... to get it back like I want it.

Does anyone have a "black flash" problem?

I have a quick question about a problem I've found on my 722. I recently had to buy a new TV. I had an old rear projection HDTV - early model Hitachi. It was so old that it only had component video inputs (this was before HDMI was even thought of). Anyway, it died and I bought a Samsung LED...

    Favorite Android Apps

I've had dolphin for awhile now. Honestly I don't know enough about it's features to know whether its any better or not. I like the blue color scheme of it. I tend to not use the browser unless I absolutely have to. Having to zoom in to read pages that are not set up for mobile browsing is a...

revisit the 60 Hz vs. 120 Hz debate, or not

Well, I've been watching for judder and haven't found any yet. Hopefully I won't notice it, because so far this TV's PQ is great. I love the set and don't think 60 Hz is going to be a problem. BD's look awesome, PS3 games are too. HD PQ on the 722 is pretty good (I think Dish is still...

revisit the 60 Hz vs. 120 Hz debate, or not

So, bottom line is that my PS3 will play a BD and I will get all the picture quality I'm supposed to get, even though the TV is 60Hz? I understand about the 120 Hz and 24fps issue. I guess I will wait for my HDMI cables to get here so I can experiment with the PS3. (I ordered HDMI cables from...

    Swype Android Beta Re-opened

you just kind of make little circles there on the letter you want to double. I've been swyping for several days now - I'm not great at texting and have been enjoying the speech to text function of the Droid, but there are times when there is a "connection problem" and I can't use speech to text...

    Android OS 2.2 FROYO

does rooting cause you to lose your pics you have on the phone? or will all that stuff still be there because its on the SD card? What info will I lose when you do the data/cache wipes? I'm assuming all my points and playing history for RoboDefense will be gone? :)

revisit the 60 Hz vs. 120 Hz debate, or not

Guys, this may be yet another dumb question from me, but I haven't had the time to plow through all the info on the web regarding this issue, so I was hoping someone here could get me back up to speed. I was a fairly early adopter of HDTV - getting my first HDTV in 2000. Back then I kept up...

    The Weather Channel is worthless

already gave up on TWC. I use mycast on the Droid. I haven't watched TWC for weather updates in. A long time

    The Weather Channel is worthless

We have seen it many times... TWC not continuing coverage of strong storms in our area, choosing instead to continue to talk about clear weather in the northeast.

    ridiculous commercial volume

Why are the computers so expensive if all they have to do to make one is squirt some toothpaste looking stuff out and stamp it and bake it in a microwave while some guys sing "Lollipop" to it?
  17. Stacy A

    The Weather Channel is worthless

I gave up on TWC at least 10 years ago when it became apparent that they had a bias for reporting weather in certain areas over ours. We live in east Texas and I don't know how many times I would turn on TWC to try to get information about approaching thunderstorms or serious weather systems...

    froyo for droid leaked

Spent a lot more time this morning reading MyDroidWorld posts RE froyo and all the bugs that people are having. They are just bitten with it more than me. I think I'll wait awhile before I try it out. I'm really only interested in maybe getting the touch screen to be a little more smooth and...

    froyo for droid leaked

I really want to do this, but I find the threads on MyDroidWorld confusing and somewhat conflicting. So, I'm not sure I should tackle it. There's one guide for non-rooted users, another that roots the phone, along with confusing instructions, and to top it off there's all this "more froyo"...

Google Navigation - Can you dim the screen ant night?

I was informed last night by my FIL that it does indeed dim at night when in navigation, but does not dim when simply viewing the map.

Google Navigation - Can you dim the screen ant night?

The question says it all. I find the screen on Google maps or navigation too bright in the truck on my Droid at night. I would like a quick way to dim the screen, but I haven't found a way to do that easily. Is this just another instance of me being a dumbass and not looking hard enough? Or...

    Question about a Droid app

    Question about a Droid app

I have been using Handcent SMS on my Droid, but I have run into one problem that I dislike. Everytime I get a text from someone, it comes in twice: once on the standard messaging and once on the Handcent SMS messaging - giving me two notifications. I'd rather just get one notification. Anyone...

    Droid? Or Incredible/Desire

I have to put in my two cents - I love my Droid. Have no experience with the Incredible. But I can say that with Google's speech to text you really have no need for a keyboard. It is an amazing speech recognition software. It rarely misinterprets what I say.
