I discovered the hobby of FTA about 2 years ago and everything I know about it was learned in the forums of this website. That's how I know that without an HH motor I'd have mutiple dishes in my yard pointing in all directions. An HH motor is a must have!

No, you're not the only person. This is my only receiver. Mine does not keep time. And I could list a bunch of other stuff I don't like about this receiver. But being new to FTA all receivers may have the same quirks for all I know.

Same here, I get 75 on 11799 (11800) and 60 on 11720 with my 90cm dish and Mercury II.

The assembly parts box was not crushed. I took the dish and bracket down and examined them. The bracket is shaped to fit the curvature of the dish and the four mounting points are flat. They don't seem to be twisted or skewed. With the dish face down I placed the bracket over the four...

OK I unmounted the dish and brought it inside and did the string test again. The strings touch each other where they intersect so it looks like the dish is NOT warped. However when I put it back on the bracket with the nuts just barely screwed on to keep the dish from falling off the strings...

Signal Level & Quality Here's my signal level and quality from the strongest transponder on each satellite. The skies were clear with no wind when I checked them. BTW, I'm using the Mercury II receiver and 85W is my true south satellite although I set up 87W as my true south sat for the motor...

Yes, it's already installed and I did not check for warping before I installed it. I did not overtighten the 4 bolts that hold the dish to the bracket. Just until very snug. Do you think I should tighten them until the nut stops?

I stretched strings N/S and E/W on my brand new dish. There is a 1/4" gap where the strings cross. Does this mean the dish is warped and if so how will this affect signal quality? Thanks.

Would it be possible to get 123W and 129W with the same dish without using a HH motor or a Toroidal dish?

OK I have 50 inches from center of pole to chain link fence that's 4 feet high. If I make my pole 5 feet high then the angled LNB arm should clear the top of the fence with ease. I hope. Pointing at 72° W would put the LNB closest to the fence but as the dish moved west the LNB would move...

My latitude is 38 and longitude is 85. So what would the measurement be if it's pointed due south? Thanks for your help!
