1.8 prime, or 1.2 offset which is better?

shopping list to consider

This is not a recommend, so much as a suggest, but here goes:
- 6' prime focus Fortec Star dish with polar mount (motorizeable)
- a 36 volt actuator (linear motor) to move the dish, possibly 24", high resolution
- Gbox 3000 to run the actuator
- I wouldn't suggest a BSC621, there are just too many unknowns with it on Ku
- the GeoSatPro Ck-1 might do better on Ku, but we're still discussing that.
- a slam dunk on Ku, would be an AF-120 feedhorn mounted beside your C-band LNBF
- for a Ku LNB, you could use any that bolt to the above feedhorn (Invacom or others)
- others will recommend a Chaparral co-rotor with C & Ku LNBs, driven by a Pansat 2700 or 3500 receiver.
- Fortec Star Mercury II or Dynamic, Visionsat IV-200, Coolsat 5000 or 6000, and Traxis 3500 are all acceptable receivers to start out with.

Other thoughts -
- SatelliteAV currently has a 2.4m polar mount 'n dish on sale for cheap
- For whatever dish, start out with the CK-1 LNBF, and see how Ku works for ya.
- if you use an offset 1.2m or even 1.8m Prodelin dish, you'll need a conical scalar.
