Playoff panel doesn't want rematches

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- BCS executive director Bill Hancock says the selection committee for the College Football Playoff will try to avoid rematches, but not at the expense of the integrity of the seedings.

Hancock spoke to the Football Writers Association of America on Monday. He says the top priority of the selection committee will be to make sure the No. 1 team plays close to home and the teams are properly seeded.

Using this season's final BCS standings, and next season's semifinal sites, the final four would have been No. 1 Florida State playing No. 4 Michigan State in the Sugar Bowl and No. 2 Auburn playing No. 3 Alabama in the Rose Bowl.

Hancock says seeding adjustments will only be made if teams are considered even.
Both Alabama & Michigan St. had 1 loss. Wouldn't they have been considered even? Well, except that one of them actually won it's conference.
Using his logic it should have been FSU-Alabama and Auburn-Michigan St.

See,works every time. I just woke up to find out Florida State won. Bud Light should make a commercial about me.
Same here, went to bed mid-3rd quarter to wake up and see a facebook post about luck running out for Aubie.

Well, FSU finally had to play a 4th quarter ... and they outplayed Auburn in the 4th ...

Congrats to FSU !
Yes sir. Seems FSU was able to adjust to that SEC defense. I'm a canes fan but when they're not in it I will cheer for two other teams representing our state, noles and gators.

What a crap interference call. Hate when refs interject themselves in a game.
There were a couple of things that annoyed me like the taunting call which I thought was ridiculous, but at least the referees really didn't affect the outcome of the game where you can say they handed the trophy to the winner.

Congrats to the noles.
Looked like my Tigers had a chance even though a nole fan on here said "the barn has no chance" :)
Still great to be an Auburn Tiger!!
I have a feeling FSU was over confident as well and thought this would be easy, just to be stunned in that 1st half.

I recorded the one with the guys talking during the game, who's stupid idea was that, I turned the station to see the winner.

All things considered, I'm happy with OU at #6 to finish the year. After losing to Texas, I didn't think they'd finish in the top 20.

Congrats to Auburn, great game and a fun NC game, not a blowout. Really the way a bowl game should be.

Part of FSU's issues with SEC teams are not the talent, it's the fact ACC refs call games like women's volleyball. SEC and B1G refs allow more physical play, and it took them almost a half to adjust to what Florida was doing in that game. The receivers get roughed up being used to the sissy penalty calling in the ACC. My prediction yesterday was 34-24, so I was close and surely didn't expect the Noles to be down 21-3, but they answered all the "adversity" questions last night in the comeback. IMO, the main star all year has been Pruitt's D, and they did well last night. The numbers do not reflect it, but I felt they handled the crazy offense well, especially since our slacking offense kept them in poor positions the entire first half. Winston showed last night this was his first year as a starting college QB.

One thing I miff'd about, and while I understand it happens all the time, the reason Jimbo came out with his goofy towel shields for play calling in the second half was because Dameyune Craig was stealing calls. I really like Craig, but I guess you will do anything to a former team to win a NC.

My enjoyment is today, because living in Mobile, I am giving as many people hell as I can for one day. I generally dont talk smack, but I have to listen to a lot of Bammer and Barner nonsense around here from Aug-Jan, and this morning is priceless. Ive heard things from "why did Saban tell FSU how to win at halftime", like Jimbo was watching in the locker room, to FSU only won at the end because they were lucky and Auburn is a better team. Barners have conveniently forgotten UGA and the Iron Bowl, but thats OK, I sure as hell wont let them forget it. It's hard being a fan of a non Bama team, living in Bama.

Truth...

He did make one very accurate statement at the half, FSU needs to run more. Jimbo was pass happy and the pass game was stankin. The backs were doing quite well in the first half.

WTF? How did a 2-loss (easily could have been 4) team, who lost their Rose Bowl game, finish ahead of Michigan State, a 1-loss team who actually WON their Rose Bowl game. Are these eFing pollsters brain dead? (rhetorical question)

Auburn made the championship game. Whoever loses that game deserves to be #2 regardless of any other teams records.
