2014 Winter Olympics thread

Really don't like the IIHF rules for a shootout. Didn't like that you could have the same player take all of the shots after the first 3 rounds. Happy that USA won but would have preferred to see more players take the shots.
Why?...TJ Oshie put it all out!...Does the coach call certain players to play on a line? So why is it any different when it comes to a shootout.!..Put ur best out there! Least a strategic matchup any way!...BTW Laviolette is a sharp fella! He knows what he is doin!.Should be head coach IMO!!!!

It's just my preference. I want to see the team in the shoot out not just a single player. This is an all star team so they should be able to put almost anybody out there. It was nothing against the US or Oshie as the Russians only put two different players out there. There are just things regarding the shoot out that both the NHL and IIHF could both learn. I really okie the 3 point system that the IIHF utilizes.

Reports out of France that US and Russian judges made a deal to make sure the US pair wins in ice dancing by both agreeing to screw over Canada.
Like that would EVER happen.. cough cough 2002

And let the investigations begin...A judge claimed the Canadians made a mistake in the "finnstep".... but the skater who invented the move couldnt find anything wrong with it but did say the Americans' timing was off.

Salt Lake City all over again.

Canada wins 3-1 against the Swiss. So it'll be U.S. vs Canada in the Women's gold-medal hockey game.

Also, U.S. wins gold in the ice dance free dance thanks to a couple from Michigan.:)

NBC isn't showing anything live.....on any of their networks. I really think that they want these Olympics to be a failure, for whatever reason, ask them. I seriously doubt that the 9 hour time difference is the problem here, the problem is NBC. These Olympics have been a bitter disappointment to follow.

Tomorrow's schedule will be posted after 11pm tonight as I won't get home from work until after 11pm and that they keep having to reschedule events at the last minute.

Check on NBC's and CBC's websites in my OP for any updates.

Gotta say, NBC dropped the puck yet again on these Olympics. Even their site is total crap.
CBC airs events live, and on CBC.ca.. practically every event at Sochi is available live via streaming.

If the Russians keep playing the way they are playing(not so good),one of the semi-final match-ups will be the 2006 Gold Medal game participants Sweden versus Finland, while the other semi-final match-up could be (if Canada & USA win their respective games) the 2010 Gold Medal game participants Canada & USA. I do hope that the Russians can get it together though.
