Best OTA Solution using Edision OS Mio+

I'll watch out for loss of lock but not a big deal for me. Other than local news, most of what I watch on OTA is a couple of recorded shows each week. Local physical channels are now VHF 8 (Global), UHF 15 (CTV) and UHF 32 (CBC). Ch. 48 changed to 15 in summer last year. Years ago we had CBC French as a local. But it ended a while back.

I have all 3 tuners, a 950, 955 and the Xbox version used between both my Os Mios. I like the OTA PVR capabilities over my previous ATSC converter any day. I love the program details it saves to make it easier to sort through the recordings.

I didn't pay more than $20 shipped for any on eBay. Probably worth watching for one to pop up.

I'm using this on my osmio4k (not plus) but I suspect it'll work on the plus also:

The Hauppauge 950Q arrived today two days ahead of schedule. It works perfectly. Seamless is how I would describe it since it functions exactly as if I'm receiving satellites on the Edision. I actually tried to make the installation more complicated than it was. I tried to look for drivers in a plugin. That was all unnecessary since all I had to do was connect the OTA antenna, select the new Tuner C for OTA, scan for channels and the OTA channels appeared. Video quality is excellent. I tried recording three shows at once (Tuner A, Tuner B, Tuner C OTA) and that also worked perfectly.

The only different operation from using my TV is that subtitles can't be made to appear onscreen when using the Hauppauge. Sometimes I like watching only the video without the audio but with text scrolling. So to do that, I also have the OTA antenna connected directly to the TV and I use the TV subtitle function.
