big old satelite dish

I was just trying to see if anyone wanted this thing. If not I was just going to scrape it for the mental and get 50 bucks out of it. it would be a pretty easy removal. you can cut it at the base or just rip it out of the ground. i would take care of the rest.

I just bought a 10 footer channel master from a man I worked with for $50.
He disassembled it and brought to me where we work. I loaded it up on my Escort station wagon.
We have a scale at work, so before loading it up, I weighted 1 quarter panel and on the steel works I guessed the weight.
The whole dish had a recycle value of $30 where I live.
So he made more money this way If you don't count his gasoline and time and I saved on gasoline and time tearing it down.

This is a nice dish, but 2,560 miles one-way is to far for me to pick up a dish even though I could make the trip one-way in 2 1/2 days.:)

It's been a few days already since I PMed the OP & still no email nor response for this DH dish.

Have to presume the issue as dead. A real shame.:(

Shame. Good looking dish and HH motor. By now they are scrap and loaded on a barge headed for Guangdong

satellite dish

big old satellite dish for sale. $100 for everything. posted pictures to see what is it. IMAG0056.jpgIMAG0057.jpgIMAG0058.jpgIMAG0059.jpg

Haha, so he didn't scrap it!

$100 is a great price for a C Band dish. I haven't had much luck finding free ones in my region.

If I lived near you I'd jump on that.

Someone should pick this up because there's a looming threat of it being scrapped in the first thread he made.

Probably should merge with first thread.

And post some pix from the back side & well lit.

I believe you already had someone interested.

Pics of the backside of DH

Since the OP didn't email with an address nor answer the PM I'd presumed it a loss. In the mean time I'd already rescued a 7.5ft Unimesh & an 8Ft buttonhook Orbitron. I'm just about out of space to store dishes.

If the OP would kindly post some pics of the backside of his dish of comparison it would be most helpful. :)

I attached some pics of the one I retrieved.;)

Lancaster CA... So.East of Bakersfield... South of Mojave -- East of Gorman... MOUNTAINS 975 mile each way.... 1950-miles ... 195 gallons of gas about $800. And just as hot there as here. Too HOT... Somebody save that dish. My post still is not solid. Back to the topic. This one is not for me unless someone could deliver.

Wow, I didn't see that coming. - ;)
Looks like yet another player, using the same (DH?) dish blank,
and adding their own unique bits .

Anyone recognize that H-H motor?
Is it what Radio Shack once had on theirs?

Oh, and after consultation with Linuxman,
we believe this dish was stamped, not spun.
He pointed out there are no circular tooling marks on the back side
as there are on the white solid Birdview dishes! - :)

This H-H drive is the same as the 8ft DH I retrieved from Palmdale. The ring mounts differ - mine is the welded, rolled flat stock ring. Attached pics of the motor & H-H drive label.

I keep dangling the car keys in front of this one but no one else seems to want to drive.:D

Declination adjust

Two lock bolts & two pivot bolts are loosened, then adjust the declination with the top captive bolt. The one with the protruding thread & nut on it in left of pics.
Elevation is a simple turnbuckle.
