hi guys,i need some insight on why i can't get remote to work with tis receiver,i bought it used with out a remote,i bought a universal remote,and programmed it ...nothing,so i programmed it to my orasat 5.0...perfect..all control buttons work manually fine,but remote just won't work on this receiver.

The remote sensor might have gone out on your 600. Or firmware got corrupted. If you can find software for it, you might try reloading the box and see if it helps.

captiveworks 600s premium won't respond

still can't get my captiveworks to respond to my roc universal remote,i can reprogram it to work my orasat 5.0,but when i program it for my cw...nothing..may i add i bought it on line without the remote...how smart was that,all of the panel buttons work and i bought it for it's blind scan, any suggestions?

ROC V2 remote works fine with my CW700s

I have a ROC MULTI-SAT V2 remote and it works fine with my Captiveworks CW-700s. In fact it works with every receiver on its compatibility list that I have tried.

The blind scan on my CW700s is frustratingly slow, and all three versions of the OEM firmware for it are buggy. The CW600s is an slightly older model, and has a slower CPU.

May I suggest you send your CW600s back for a refund if you can.

Reloading the OEM software via a serial cable connection might fix it, if corrupted software is the problem. If it cannot be returned, I would try that.

The remote sensor may be bad, as others have suggested.

I never use my CW-700s since I got a Coolsat 6000 for aiming dishes and blind scanning.
