CBS moving to new stations in 6 markets on August 1

Not too fast!! QVC still on the air on KOAT-DT and showing up on my old Sony showing home shopping stuffs in same old WS 480i...😛

Wish they would dump QVC and bring up CBS to 1080i if theres any room left. 🙄

CBS now on KOAT-DT but in 720p in order to conserve bandwidth digital bitrates.

As for KRQE-DT independent, 13.2 now in 1080i and FOX moved to 13.1 in 720p in a interesting swap video modes around.😎

North Dakota was interesting
KX (the former CBS) added AntennaTV to the .2 or in one case the .1 in Dickinson (the KX stations are 4 former CBS stations. They put CW on the -1 in Dickinson so it had must carry on satellite)
Now in Dickinson and Williston (the far west part of the market) they no longer have CBS OTA. With CBS moving to Forum's ABC affiliates in Bismarck and Minot the far western part of the market has no ABC (hasn't for a long time) and now CBS.
(most people have cable or satellite so they will still get CBS and ABC)

cable in Western ND put the new CBS on channel 18 in 3 of the 4 "licensed" towns (Bismarck, Minot, Williston)
Dickinson its on 8

Rabbit Ears has already made updates. 👍
Not fully. They still say 'soon' based on what we knew earlier in the week and in some cases with CW moving to .1 we didn't know what was replacing it on .2

Now that KOAT is back up to full power, I was able to get some specs:

KOAT CBS is 1280x720, with a VBR as high as 11mbps.

KOAT ABC remains 1920x1080, also with a VBR as high as 11mbps.

Interesting to note that once CBS moved to KOAT here in Albuquerque, it ceased to exist on our ATSC 3.0 beacon. KQRE's .2 subchannel (formerly CBS) remains on RF 36 in ATSC 3.0 as some kind of 24/7 news channel. I had expected KOAT CBS to replace this useless feed.

Yep, They are sending in 720p instead of 1080i format.:p

KOAT-DT, really should dump one or two least popular subchannels and upgrade to 1080i for CBS, to way it meant to be... :hatsoff2

It cant due to contracts signed for what would be carried on the ATSC 3.0 station. The other markets where CBS got moved and there is a ATSC 3.0 station in that market CBS isnt carried either.
