i need your help i turn off windows update by mistake, and can't turn it back on, it's on in the control panel but i know i did something to try shut off java updates but i don't what i did

Vista Turn automatic updating on or off

WIN 7 Turn automatic updating on or off

updates are on, and downloading but they are not installing automatically at shutdown anymore , and i don't know why
