Connection Issue: Speedtest

Here's a dandy of a problem:

Laptop: HP 4GB/Dual Core w/ dual boot Ubuntu and Win7

Win7 Speedtest: 21MB down
Ubuntu Speedtest: 6MB down

GF's W7 laptop: 20Mb down

SONY PS3 and Sony Bravia both lag and PS3 sometimes can't connect to PSN.



Anyone speculate why the difference in speed?

Sorry... laptops are wireless, TV and PS3 are wired. I have both laptops on W7 side by side and speedtest is normal (20mb). I reboot mine to Ubuntu and perform another speedtest on both (20mb/7mb).

Just read Ubuntu has some issues with various cards.. going to confirm tonight. However it doesnt explain why I can barely stream Old MacDonald on the Bravia nor connect to PSN.

My guess is the specific Ubuntu driver for that card.
