copying Recorded Programs

it depends on what the program is. I have had success recording to DVD with "normal" programs but not PPV or even HBO. Simply run from the composite (red, yellow, white) output to the same inputs on your recorder. I guess VHS would be the same issues with copyguard but possibly not. Sorry if that's not much help. 
- use the s-video for the video as its better.
- use the 2 audio hookups.
- dont go over 2.5 hours on a disk or the picture quality really degrades.
