I'm reviving last season's favorite baseball thread.

In today's news - the Tigers won their 7th straight. On the bad side though, Zumaya is lost to injury for at least a week.

Should we have a new thread for each team? Just kidding. :D

That bean ball game with Baltimore certainly seem's to have woken him up for sure. The whole team actually.

Word on Zoom is his middle finger KNuckle is the issue, He is supposed to be in NY today for a specialist. AN MRI was done in KC and will be read today in Detroit..

I heard Dislocation, and that will be longer then a week.

Word on ESPN was he will be out for 12 weeks :(
There was discussion to move Durbin back to the pen to fill his role, but with him pitching better now, it looks like he will stay in the rotation

Q. Who will step up while he's out ?

Jimbo

Why not? I opened this thread because it got a lot of response last year. I'm sure my fellow members will determine whether it lasts or not. I'd like to read what others write about their teams too!

Zumaya is out at least 12 weeks with a ruptured tendon on his middle finger of his pitching hand. As for who will step up - - I would hope it would be the whole bullpen, and for that matter the starting pitching going a little deeper into the game wouldn't hurt either. Like Roger's injury, I sure we'll get past this also. These kind of things are what seperates contenders from pretenders.

I am concerned as far as the bullpen goes. Mesa looks to be the guy that will be pitching more innings....I guess they knew what they were getting when they signed him. Hopefully Rodney will also work out of his struggles as well.

Bonderman and Verlander have been going deep into games and are capable, but I think till now, Leyland has decided to not pitch them past the 7th at most, but them again why would you with Zoom, Zoom and Rodney and Jones in the last 3 innings.

Rodney seems to have gotten his game together of late and before you laugh about Todd Jones, look and see what he has done of late ....

Getting Rogers and Zumaya back will be like making a trade deadline trade. :) :up

I like the sound of that Jimbo. As for removing starters, Leyland is a big believer in pitch count - 100 and you're out of there.

Ramy, maybe you can rename this thread AL Central, because I don't want to make the other people who contributed last year feel discluded. They made last years thread tons of fun. Come on back guys!

9 out of 10! Bonderman listed as questionable for Sunday's start against the Twinkies. Has anybody benefitted more from Sheffield's presence in the lineup than Magg's?

WIth Bonderman's blister problem, we may see Andrew Miller up from AA Sunday night in the primetime ESPN game. That is Bondo's start and no decision has been made of yet.

I am hoping to see the Wings win the Stanley Cup, Pistons earn an NBA Championship, Tigers take the World Series, and the Lions....well, let's just hope they don't finish in last place this year.

You would think some of this would have rubbed off on the Lions by now. 6-10 for the Lions this year.
