DIRECTV Satellite is not currently available for new customers in your area

Checked my zip code today and it now allows satellite installs again. Also checked a New York City and a St. Louis zip code which were blocked before and new installs are allowed there as well.

if you have sat service then your grandfathered into that service and DTV will do a truck roll and do an install for you. but for new customers only in those areas it's streaming only,,

i wonder why are area wasn't picked for streaming only since we have many providers along with many speeds to choose from!!! though i have always been told there's alot of sat subs in my area 🤔. i see why since direct comes out cheaper than spectrum in my area spectrum can't or won't match direct my guess is won't match direct's pricing...

It was a blanket market by market test, it had nothing to do with how many broadband providers may or may not be available in your specific town. Like all of the NYC DMA was restricted, including rural Dutchess county NY and Pike county PA where Verizon has zero plans to deploy FiOS and still only offers 3 Mbps DSL speeds, while Kansas City still had sat available, even though they were the first city cherrypicked by Google Fiber a decade ago.
