How is this different than the past??

Cool. Thanks Jason.

This box is getting to be more and more like my 622.:)

It is quicker. It is even better if you go to the display settings menu and turn off "scrolling effects" or "animation" or something to that effect (can't remember and not near the TV).

Do these changes equate to the last CE? If they don't, will those of us operating on the current CE lose some of what we currently have?

This actually is the same version as the latest CE, they just made it the national release.

And this means the start of a new CE cycle!

Unfortunatly when I rec'd this update (4-19-08, btw) I also managed to loose my Caller Id funtion that had been working for the last few months after not working for quite awhile ......

I understand that the Caller Id thing is just an added feature, but for it to work for awhile then NOT back and forth is frustrating.

Everything else appears to be working fine.

From the last NR you can be certain of one thing, the coders at D* waste no time on testing. :D

Hopefully they will fix more things than they break, this time. :(

Got my update last night. When I first turned on my receiver from my remote, I had no response. I had to do a hard reset (unplug) and then the receiver started going the the steps. Everything went smooth.

The guide is just has fast as my 622 when scrolling with the channel button. I turned the scrolling effects off so not sure if that was what made it so fast or the update or both. Very fast now and very happy!!

Maybe I'm just forgetting since I don't have remote in hand, but how did you do it in the past?

Does DirecTV publish details around these anywhere in order to learn how to use or take advantage of additions and changes? For example, if 'FF to true live' was a brand new feature, how would you know how to use it?
