Miami/Aruba
Hi Guys
I need some Help please .
I have a full dish network set up at my House in Aruba for around 5 years with DVR etc... what seams to me a serious and legit operation in the beginning turned later in trouble for me and i found out that it was a more or less an illegal operating Guy what looked like he works officially with Dish network in the US .
I worked well for 4 years now but since last week i have no signal and the Guy Disappeared so I'm stacked with no TV over there at the moment but a full set up ready to operate .

Make a long story short .
I also have a Apartment in Miami were i stay from time to Time so my question is if i get dish network legit over there in Miami and take for example the card with me to Aruba will my Aruba system work or is that not possible to do ??

Any other tips how i get my Aruba system working are highly appreciated

Thanks for reading
!!

Your problems may be due to a new satellite with a tighter beam. Might need a MUCH larger dish. Might be impossible.

Nope. Can't move a card from one box to another.

The only new satellite coming online within your time frame is Echostar 15 at 61.5. Where is your dish pointed? If it's a big one, then it doesn't take much to knock it out of alignment.

Agree that you can't take just the card between residences. Taking the whole receiver might work. ;)

I really don't know what satellite the dish is pointing at but i had for the last years no problems at all with my setup .
The problem is in my opinion that this Guy had someone in the US what did the registrations for him and at this moment that is not the case anymore so they took me off Air !!

If that with the Card works that will be great, is that confirmed ??

I have already Cable in my Apartment and don't relay need Dish here but if that helps to get my Aruba set up working again i will do that with a blink of an Eye , the programs you get there are Horrible and moestly Latin Channels

And in some way i got used to Dish Network all my favorite Shows are there and i love the DVR .

Very possible and that's a risk you have dealing with a broker. But frankly that should give you a "not authorized" message on all channels, not "no signal". The "no signal" suggests something went wrong with your dish, the LNB assembly, the switch (if any), or the cabling. Or the tuner in your receiver could have failed. :( What receiver is it? You should be able to get it to tell you what switch and satellites it is (or was) receiving using the MENU - 6 - 1 - 3.

I own at the Marriott Surf Club and they use Dish Network (with Miami locals). I wonder if they are able to pick up the new sats or if they have changed the TV offerings recently.

And, are you Madame Janette's Karsten?

you can setup a new legal account in miami for one receiver and then bring that receiver to aruba. it will work the same as before but you will not get the networks as they are spotbeamed. remember dont put multiple receivers on an account where you dont have a phone line to plug in or you will get the diknet audit police..

Thanks for the response i will go later to Dish Network here in Miami and check it out .
DO NOT tell them you are planning to take receiver to aruba as that is against diknet policy. you will not get abc, cbs, nbc or fox as those are spotbeam meaning in miami you will get them but once you move box out of miami spot you will loose them.... do not plug receiver into phone line in aruba.

Or even broadband.

Of course, if you had good, affordable broadband, you could just sling from your FL receiver.

Broadband speeds in Aruba are quite good, for it being an island. I don't think you could sling a Pro-HD with great picture quality though. I'm going to find out next month!

OK Guys
will that work for me ?

Lets say
i go to a local Miami dish network Dealer ( or over the net ) and tell them that i have all the Equipment installed but I'm missing the card, so i open a new account on my Miami address and chose the package i want will they provide me with a new Card to activate my existing Aruba system.??

Can i do that also online somewhere ?

Sorry for all those questions but I'm totally new to all of that  and love to have my TV back to the old stage with all those fine Channels and DVR etc.....

this statement has me now. . .i have a DN receiver in the caribbean and i was goin to put another receiver on my account.

the receivers NOT under contact i got them from ebay.

would i still get the police?

is there anyway around this?

about the locals, if the topic starter has a BUD he maybe able to get locals from P.R in the clear on a few sats. . .

I don't know if that is relevant my DVR is a VIP 622 .

If it is more convenient please send PM

Please understand Guys I payed that Guy 4 K for all the equipment and installation i relay need that System working again i just need the right info to get it done proper.

If there is the right Guy what can help me to get that done right i will pay for that, Help me out here . Or if you ever plan a Trip to Aruba I hook you up at my well known Restaurant with all the Good Stuff.

I think you can use your Miami address to add a new account any time you please. If Dish needs to send you a new purple card to get your 622 going again, then they usually do so without charge. Installers don't issue these cards; they are essentially married to the receiver. It might be easiest to drag the 622 to Miami and hook it up to an appropriate dish antenna, so you can legitimately answer any questions they might ask. If you just read them the receiver and existing smart card numbers, they'll doubtless ask for other info, such as firmware version, etc. etc. If you aren't sitting in front of a live receiver on a good antenna system, then you can't answer all their questions and they might get suspicious.

What if i have Screen shot of all the system info in front of me, my wife just send me one from today via mail.??

The Card is Purple by the way .

The purple card is current, so you don't need a new card. Are you sure you paid your bills? ;)
