DISH Network Launches (Then Removes) The Weather Cast

I think the market for getting your weather from tv is much smaller than it used to be. When I want weather, I tap the weatherbug app on my iPhone.

If I am at a computer, I go to wunderground.com

Weather Cast just showed some radar of what I thought was a storm coming through southern mississippi and after double checking on the internet, I found that it was the storm that came through 3 hours ago?

I am not claiming to know all on these things but I am starting to think Dish is not out for out pockets as they still raise rates along with direct and cable. I think they want more profit! It won't raise our rates but will decrease their net profit!!

Looks like GOOD NEWS.

The Weather Channel has removed all the DISH Network stuff from its homepage. It looks like a deal may have been reached.

The webpage they were sending people to however is still up (But only if you know the URL to it.. which is Dish Network is dropping The Weather Channel)

Good. It looks like we all may get an extra channel over this dispute instead of loosing one.

I'm calling BS on this. I just put on the new weather servoice and what do I see? A news report on the gulf oil spill.
WHo is Dish kidding.
I like TWC just fine and if Dish eliminates that channel it shows me Dish cares not to at least ASK it's customers what thye would like.
This is an arbitrary and anti-consumer decision made by Dish.
I am attempting to access the interactive weather on the new channel. It nothing special. The radar is a regional radar wiht little detail and no radar animation.
I just entered a zip code for the home town of a friend. It took about a minute for the new city to show up.
Ok if they ADD this service. But to oust TWC for this? Bullcrap!!!!

I gave up on the weather chanel a long time ago. Who has time to wait 20 minutes to see a forecast, or even worse hours if they are showing something. Far faster to look for oneself on the internet (or on the phone). A big weather event like a hurricane will have all the news people there anyways, not like TWC is scooping them.

Well, looks like we might be dropping Dish then...I don't watch the weather channel much but others in the house practically live for that channel.

I hope they reach a deal. Chances are they will...just depends on how long.

First, it's every 10 minutes. Not 20..LOcal weather on the 8's.
Next, do you really think this fledgeling channel is going to have the resources of a well established service?
The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. Just over the septic tank.
All this whining about how there is no identical to cable service on TWC for satellite customers is just amazing.
If one wants what only cable can provide, then get cable.
Jeez.

I would rather them carry both as well. When I want good weather info, I go to wunderground for the warnings map and interactive zoom radar which updates very quickly. The bad thing is, the radar data shows the precipitation a little to the north than what it actually is. When you use the weather channel interactive radar, it shows the accurate location of the precipitation coming in but is not as useful.

The Weather CAST channel is showing a feature on oil in the water, so evidently they cannot stand having weather 24 hours a day either.

The weather on The Weather Cast channel is out of date, some of it appears to be 3 or more hours old.

This is a very good picture of her.

I think many people will miss the personalities (anchors) on The Weather Channel. Also the Vortex 2 is liked by many.

hi. it's after 11 pm central, still getting twc here. i hope we get both. i'd like to have both channels since i'm here in severe weather terratory.
