I have a HR-24 connected by HDMI to a 40 inch Samsung 1080P LCD TV, and on occasion, I lose pic and sound, and get message saying "mode not supported". Only way to get pic and sound back is to turn unit off and back on.

Only happens when I am in the guide and switching channels, and only on occasion. I cant force the problem to occur.

I have a HR-24 in the front room, connected to a Samsung 52" LCD by HDMI, and have no problem.

Any ideas?

Swap the rcvrs. If the problem follows the rcvr, then the rcvr may have a problem. If it stays at the 40" tv, then the tv or hdmi cable may be at fault. If you swap rcvrs and the problem stays at the 40" tv, swap the hdmi cables. If the problem stays at the tv, then the tv may be at fault, if the problem follows the hdmi cable then the cable is at fault and may need to be replaced.
