Off on another music trip... From my days as a kid, I find this song to be really fun to listen to. I hope you like it, too!

Son of My Father by Giorgio Moroder (he was a genius with music)..... And Lyrics, too. Listen carefully and you will understand how accurate this song is for real life.

I hope no one minds too much, I mean I hope you all don't mind my deviations from FTA/satellite talk to music. I find that music from my past keeps my spirit in check and makes me feel happy. I need this outlet to keep me sane and smiling, otherwise I'd bust. I don't do drugs and I can only drink so much alcohol and that doesn't do the trick anyway, so I listen to music to feel good.

AHHHH! Music is good! :)

Pepper and Turbo,

Those are right up my alley! :) Thank you both for sharing those and bringing some other memories back for me. They remind me of better times, well, simpler times anyway.

One line that I will always remember from Happy Days is what Fonzie said about his mis-aligned mirror on his motorcycle... "I don't want to see where I've been, I want to see how COOL I look getting there".

Going back to the song "Son of My Father" by Giorio Moroder. One of the reasons that I really liked this song is that is was one of the coolest songs for a color organ.

Do you remember color organs? Disco floors? My older brother built one setup back in the early 70's. Two boxes of Christmas lights (red, white, yellow, green and blue lights) that were 2' x 4' x 8". The lights were controlled by various SCR circuits with filters for each frequency level. You connected a stereo phono cable to the control box and it actuated the lights in the box depending upon the frequency of the beat from the song.

Some songs worked really well and made a great dance party mood with the lights. With the frequencies present in this song, you can imagine that it made a great display!

Tying this music into movies...

This is more stuff from Giorgio Moroder (as composer/writer).

Electric Dreams is a cute movie, a family type movie. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out.

Giorgio Moroder

Giorgio's song, Son Of My Father really gets me going... I listen to that song and I picture myself driving down the California Coast Highway in a convertible Corvette with an awesome blonde by my side (Okay, she can be a tan brunette just the same)...

Maybe it is just the summer of '72 and the thought of that that gets me spurred on... Awwhhhh YES, the summer of LOVE! :D

Just in case you wonder, I was only eight years old at the time, but I still loved the music from the era (most of it). I wasn't driving at the time (not legally anyway) :D
