General Sports Trivia

I keep hoping for a #16 seed to win a game one of these years. The fact that they haven't is a good reason not to expand the tournament like they are talking about.

Yeah me too, that Georgetown vs Princeton is the closest I can remember to it happening.

Are we open for new a new question?

If so, name the major leaguer that got 3 hits for 2 different teams in the same day?

Bouns: What was the date and who were the teams?

On August 4, 1982, Joel Youngblood knocked in 2 runs with one hit for the Mets against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley. During the third inning he was told that he had been traded to Montreal and immediately left for Philadelphia where the Expos were playing the Phillies. He arrived in the third inning of that game, replaced the right fielder in the sixth, and singled in his only at-bat that game.

2 hits, 3 RBIs, for two different teams on the same day. Is this the guy? :)

You are the man.

I had to look that one up and it wasn't easy to find. All the sites were talking about 40 hrs and under 40 walks.

What player had seven seasons in which he hit more home runs than strikeouts?

To elaborate a bit on this stat......

Joe DiMaggio played for 13 years all with the Yankees, while serving 3 years during the prime of his career in the Air Force. By today's standards, I just can't imagine a player being able to hit 30+ HR's while striking out less. This stat is truly mind boggling.......

1936- 29 HR, 39 SO
1937- 46 HR, 37 SO
1938- 32 HR, 21 SO
1939- 30 HR, 20 SO
1940- 31 HR, 31 SO
1941- 30 HR, 13 SO

1942- 21 HR, 36 SO
1943-1945- Served in the US Air Force
1946- 25 HR, 24 SO
1947- 20 HR, 32 SO
1948- 39 HR, 30 SO
1949- 14 HR, 18 SO
1950- 32 HR, 33 SO
1951- 12 HR, 36 SO
