GoogleTV

Call Dish today having problem with the Revue box's video. While going through troubleshooting I asked about the integration fee and was told I could cancel if I wanted too but I would lose the ability to search my DVR or order Dishondemand from the revue. So if I get this right $4.00 to order on the Revue. I'm I missing something?

I canceled my DISH intergration.

It wasn't worth paying for.

The DISHONDEMAND portion was a joke compaired to the Amazon VOD that was above it.

DISH did not put any work at all in their VOD for the GoogleTV. What kind of description is this

DATE NIGHT
FVOD

What the hell is FVOD? Why not a one line description of what the movie is?

I tried to order the box from Dish, however since I don't have a receiver that will integrate with the Revue every time I clicked on order now it took me to the page to order a replacement remote.

Guess I will have to pay full price if I want a Revue.

So does the web browser on the Revue work just as good as the web browser on my PC? I understand that Hulu and the networks have blocked their programming. But what about everything else as far as web browsing is concerned? Foe example, can I access and make bids on Ebay, make status updates on Facebook, can I see everything on You Tube that I could see on my PC? I know it would be cheaper just to use my PC for these things, but I think it's kind of cool to be able to sit in the recliner and do this on the big screen. I just want to make sure it's not a half a** watered down version of a browser and that I can look at and do everything that I can do with my PC.

It doesn't work as fast as a pc to me. It is much slower but it is cool to be able to have my picture upconverted to 1080p with dolby digital sound on all channels. Porn on your living room tv? YES and you can watch regular tv in pip screen at the same time! Talk about multi-tasking.:D:up

It's a slightly modified version of browser on Android phones. It's webkit-based and pretty close to the Google Chrome experience on the PC. Not watered down much at all. Nothing like say the Blackberry browser or WebTV browser. Those are crap. This is not.

Scott,
If you had to pick between the Boxee Box or GoogleTV which one would you pick. My thought is how Andriod has grown

in one year, the App development should be greater on GoogleTV?

I'm not Scott, but I have advise. If you want a box and it does what you want it to do RIGHT NOW, buy that box. Don't buy anything based on what it may be at some point. You will (almost) always be disappointed.

I just got my Google TV yesterday from Dish. I connected it to my VIP722 and am extremely happy. This box is simply incredible, I love surfing the web on my 60 inch TV The video is all 1080p

I have a question for somebody. I just purchased the logitech revue / google tv box. How do you turn it off other than unplugging the power cord??? Lol

you can't turn it off. It will go inot sleep mode if not used for long. There is no turn on /off button or key

Walter Mossberg reviewed the Google TV in his weekly column in the Wall Street Journal today. Was not all that impressed, mostly due to the software interface as opposed to the hardware.
