OTHER GT Media V9 Prime DLNA Function

That may be the reason for the glitch. My cable modem is 10 years old.

Possibly. I tried using the built-in WIFI and got choppy video. Once I connected the V9 to ethernet and disabled WIFI, the video was a lot more smooth. Make sure your phone is connected to a 5Ghz WIFI network also.

cyberham the issue you're having looks like something on your gateway or router is blocking the port(s) the V9 and GTShare app are using to stream.

I only have wifi available. My main router is physically cabled to the Internet source. But I have no ethernet distribution in my house. It's all wireless. With 1 Gbps Internet service, this has always worked fine even if streaming multiple video sources simultaneously.

I agree that maybe "ports need to be opened" but this goes above my pay grade. Which ports? I have full access to my router but knowing what to change is the challenge. I didn't need to do anything special when implementing my Android app to use with my Edision receiver.

The Edision uses a web interface (IP address) to access content. The V9 is using the Sat2IP protocol, which admittedly I know very little about. You could try turning off the firewall on your router (if one is in use).

We are connected by ethernet cable from the modem. How do you know which band is connected?

If the router is 10 years old, you may only have 2.4Ghz WIFI. Some routers broadcast separate 2.4 and 5 SSID's (network names). If it's a mesh system (unlikely) it's more difficult to tell on your phone. Do a speed test from your phone near the router. Are you getting close to the upload/download speeds your're paying for?

Not getting the speed I should. Should be getting 150 mbps. Only getting 80 on the phone. About 40 on an old kindle. I'm in the market for a new one now.
Thanks for the post about the Minnesota PBS station. Listening to it now.

Now it looks like my GT Media and phone are on the same network, on the same router. I have two wireless routers so I moved to the room so both are on the same router. But...my phone is on the 5 GHz system and the GT Media is on 2.4 GHz. I suspect GT Media doesn't support 5 GHz. But I don't know how to move my phone to the 2.4 GHz system, or whether I want to, or if it matters. Was life always this complicated?

I'm not sure why it wouldn't, unless the Android app is different from the Apple one..
I meant the GT Media V9 Prime. I was thinking since it always seems to take a 2.4 GHz connection on my network, never 5 GHz.

Anyway, I did get both the GT Media V9 and my phone on the same network, same wireless router and at same speed at one point. GTShare still couldn't see any devices on the network.

Usually in the Settings area there should be an internet/wifi option.
That what I use on my smart phone to switch from 2.4 to 5 ghz.
I 've had no success with GT Share, it just gets hung up.
