I manually updated my 2 Hopper 3 receivers to H396 and my Joey3 to J596. I don't know what this software update does.

You need a new 40.0 remote.brittanygarden
Has this been fixed with the latest release?:
Ever since the previous version, when using my 40 remote with my H3 I get the "low battery" warning, even though the batteries are new. It doesn't do it for the 54 remote (also I have been using the 40/H3 combo for years without any problems).

Some things are proprietary and can't be shared, but I'm happy to answer any questions I'm able to.could always give release notes/change logs, but then it been years since I last seen such notes

I just updated to H397 from H392. Also, updated Hopper Plus software to P13712 from P13402
What's new in these versions that you can reveal, brittanygarden?
brittanygarden - with a Hopper 3 and Hopper Plus setup, I can see somewhere after P13402 and P13712, the settings cogwheel when one hits the Home button is no longer on the right hand side but now closer to the left center of the screen and the text for things are small. One thing I noticed from H397 from H392 and P13712 from P13402 is that I keep my Hopper 3 on never inactive so it's always on but if I turn off my TV using the TV power button on the 50.0 and 52.0 remotes and then turn the tv back on, the Hopper does not seem to stay on the last watched channel before the tv was turned off but instead, it is on channel 101 which is DISH Scapes. I tested this by turning the TV off and then back on 20 seconds later with the same exact same results of it going to channel 101 when the tv is turned on again. It seems like for me, the nightly reboots has not updated anything on it's own as the last update which was forced manually still shows as late April 2025 being H392. Does the IPLL improvement fix these two issues on streaming channels? I noticed like for example, if the current time is 5:05PM, if I paused it for 5 minutss, sometimes it will unpause itself and be live again a few minutes later. The other annoying issue is that, I can rewind and it will go from 5:00PM all the way to 1:00PM but nothing in between as from 1:00PM, a skip will end up at 5:00PM. Isn't the Live buffer supposed to be 1 hour only? How is it going back 4 hours earlier? One time when I rewind, it went to 1:00PM but it was 1:00PM the day earlier because the same day 1:00PM was already a new show which I did watch earlier in the day and the 1:00PM it showed when rewinded was what was shown the day before.

brittanygarden & Josh.M - More testing on this is interesting. Is your HDMI-CEC set to ON. Look in the Remote control settings third item from the bottom.brittanygarden & Josh.M - More testing on this is interesting. Here is what I found:
1) If I turn the tv on/off with the TV's remote or the Amazon FireStick 4K Remote, this problem does not occur.
2) If I turn the tv off using the TV's remote or the Amazon FireStick 4K Remote, and then turn the tv on using the TV Power button on the DISH 50.0 and 52.0 remotes, it will turn on and tune to channel 101 which is Dish Scapes.
3) If I turn the TV off using the TV Power button on the DISH 50.0 and 52.0 remotes and then turn the tv on using the TV's remote or the Amazon FireStick 4K Remote, the Hopper 3/Hopper Plus appears to be in standby mode.
4) If I turn the tv off using the TV Power button on the DISH 50.0 and 52.0 remotes, and then turn the tv on using the TV Power button on the DISH 50.0 and 52.0 remotes, it will turn on and tune to channel 101 which Dish Scapes.
5) Without turning off the tv, I tune to a channel and then if I switched to another input and then hit SAT on the DISH 50.0 and 52.0 remotes, the first time it will also tune to channel 101 which Dish Scapes but after that, it seems to remember the last channel that was watched.
I haven't had time to see if the other problems in H392 and earlier still exists or not but I do know:
H381, H382, H383, H385, H386, H387, H388, H390, and H392 has the issue where the Remote Control Mode Reminder Notification is always on where it will display that the remote needs to be in SAT mode when on TV and AUX even when Settings -> Notifications -> Remote Control Mode Reminder is set to Off. This was originally discovered by Pepper that it still exists in H397.
Yes but I never had the problems until a few days ago when I updated both the Hopper H3 and Hopper Plus software. I thought the HDMI-CEC is what makes hitting the SAT button on the remote also switch the input to the input the Hopper H3 is connected to on the TV if it's on another input other than the Hopper H3 which I have had on even with H392. I turned the HDMI-CEC to off and the SAT button on the remote when I am on a different input other than the Hopper H3 no longer changes the input but even when I am on the correct input as the Hopper H3, the TV Power button on the DISH 50.0 and 52.0 remotes when I use to power off and on the TV as I just tested would still change the last channel being 626-04 when the TV Power button was pressed to turn the TV off and then when I turn it back on, it's immediately on channel 101 which is DISH Scapes so it's not related to the HDMI-CEC being on.Is your HDMI-CEC set to ON.
