I have an old StarBand dish. I assume i can get KU band with it. Analog and digital? signals.

Not my dish but a similar one.

I also have a VideoPlus VP1000. I assume this is just analog.

I have a clear view of the southern sky. Any pointers on mounting and setting this up? Any good online set up guides for newbes? Would this dish even work with the receiver? How about with a rotor? What channels will i be able to get? It worth my time to set this up?

Should have a standard Ku LNB on the receive portion (transmitter is useless). It will work on any FTA receiver, set L.O. to 10750.

Note that you will probably only receive one polarity (either horizontal or vertical, depending on the feed assembly and LNB orientation)...
