Yeah the north still thinks they won! I wasn't complaining so much as posting information-that WAS what this thread was, I think. The reason you hear panic and chaos over a few inches (most places in n Ala got 4-10" total last night) is we aren't used to it, and don't have the equipment to clear large highway systems of snow or ice. It's like landing on Mars, comparing normal winter temperatures to what we've had several times this winter.
Well, it snowed again late yesterday evening and we got an additional 2" on top of the 8" we already had, which had some ice on top of it.
Went out and cleaned off my Wife's car and my truck this morning and it is really wet snow. It's 55* right now so that will help melt some of it. Forecast for tonight and tomorrow is temps in the mid 30s with rain in the morning. Long range forecast has 65* temp this coming Thursday.

Forecast for tonight/tomorrow morning here in central Virginia is 5 to 8" of snow and ice?? Temp outside now is 62* and suppose to hit 65* later today. Then there's another 3" of snow in the long range forecast for this coming Friday?? Yeah, I've had enough!!
Got my electric bill Friday and we used 151kwh MORE electricity this year than last year for the same number of days in January. That's been the trend since back in November so my monthly bill will likely go up again this June when settle up time comes. :rant:

I'm not in the Southeast, but pretty sure what we are getting now is headed there. Here in Arkansas I have at least 4 or 5 inches of sleet on the ground. I've had to sweep out the dish twice to regain signal on several tps. Hard to believe it almost hit 70 yesterday.
Two things I've heard that are really hard to predict what they will do are the weather and women, and not necessarily in that order. So today we got less than 3" of that 12" of snow they had in the forecast yesterday but we likely will get an overnight low temp tonight around 7* as it's 15* now.

Almost froze in New Orleans on Mardi Gras Eve. That's unheard of, especially given how late Mardi Gras was this year. Back in the 70s later this week...
