How to REBOOT?

Voom told me today to reboot by pressing "satellite" button on their remote. Said it could take a few hours to complete, but said nothing about how I would know if it completed. So after about 8 hours, I tried watching tv and got a signal for about one minute, now no signal.
How do you reboot, and how do you know if it was successful, and how do you initiate usage after reboot?

the only way you can reboot it to unplug your power and wait about 10 seconds and than plug back up. the only thing is that you don't want to start changing channel you need to let the system reprogram can take up to 15 to 30 minutes to get you program guide if you change to soon you will have to do it all over again cause it will just lock up.

You can also hold in on the power button until the screen goes black and than release the button. This is a soft reboot the other above is a hard reboot.
