That Disney XD not being in HD was a dealbreaker. So much for having the Hopper 3!
Disney XD, what is that ?
You mean your kids won't watch unless its in HD ?
I like that channel, especially Star Wars Rebels.
Watch in 1080p onDemand with the Disney XD app.
Wasn’t this program recently cancelled?
I've been saying it forever...I look for providers based on programming and picture quality. What good is the equipment without it?
I haven’t watched it lately, but I planned on watching it again and still watch the Marvel cartoons being the comic book geek I am.
I'm still on the fence on switching back to dish but my reason is the RSN offerings. Still missing AT&T southwest and when will they get rid of the Sports alternate mess. Also if memory serves me right, they do not carry the regional Fox MLB games on EI like DirecTV does which is a deal breaker and do the HD RSN's still go off after midnight
Are you asking if DISH has the RSNs your looking for, because I know D* does, I've been watching the Astros all year (ATT SW)... ever since the Verlander trade.
Yes, that's why we switched to DirecTV. my family had to have spectrum sports and AT&T Southwest and that's why I haven't switched back. With the exception of college sports and Denver/Detroit getting full coverage, sports on Dish are a disaster.
Well then, it sounds like you have answered your own mystery ....
Maybe one day DirecTV will come out with a hopper competitor or Dish will finally ramp up their sports offerings but until that day comes I will be giving my money to the Death Star...
Smart choice imo
I just cancelled DirecTV yesterday. I am having Dish Network installed on July 1st. I really wanted the Hopper 3. (Not really a sports fan either.) I'll just watch Disney XD in HD on my Roku Ultra. But since I had it cancelled for that very night of yesterday, I'll be without cable/satellite channels for a little over a week. I guess I'll just have to stick to OTA on my 1 TB TiVo Bolt and streaming on my Roku Ultra and off my Mac to TV via HDMI for now.
You will love Dish, great value and in my experience better customer service. You will especially love the hopper. After thinking about it this afternoon if I am to return to Dish I will be using my chromecast for NBA and MLB programming.
It’s sad if you have to use an app to make up for programming that Dish doesn’t have
Yep.. sad you have to use an app to see Epix...oh wait, Dish has that.
I haven't had the hopper, but for people to switch just because of a cable box seems kind of sill to me. D* equipment seems fine for me. I hit guide, it comes up. I hit record it records. I change a channel, and low and behold, the channel changes.
I don't get it, either, but competition is good.
I have the same issue here with my local cable company. I love Tivo but my local is lacking several HD channels that we watch a lot of. Therefore we stick with directv mostly from a programming perspective. The monthly cost is dead on between the two so I would rather have the programming
