KOQIT receivers

:oldsmile2 Before I sold my HELLO receiver, I had that one and my GTMedia both on, the cable coming in was split with a DC Block on one lne so I could run different channels on each one from the same Sat, but when I changed the channel on one, the menu came up on the other one. Had to space them out. I have that newer version of KOQIT coming and just got another GTMedia 8 coming now.
Just an update, the first KOQIT K1 is ok, the remote went sour on me but can use the front buttons (now a spare). I just got my KOQIT K5 hvec.265 unit, must admit, the signal difference is much better on it. And the info you get when you look at a channel gives a bit more detail of the signal. Too me a much better receiver. Not sure how they manage the signal quality but on the K1, I was getting about 90% signal and video quality about 39%, still waiting for trees to drop their leaves, then a big jump in signal, but with the K5 unit, I'm now getting RF 96% signal and video quality is now at 70% and zero BER. I know I can still do better when the leaves drop as I only have 63 channels right now I know there a slightly more that 90 of them. I still can't receive the 6 or 7 news feed channels that moved from the SES 2 sat. I know they are active, my freind I gave a recevier and dish too has them coming in ok at his place. I don't even see that transponder freq listed under the TP list for G19? and doesn't find them on a blind search, they are out there still correct? Anyways, thats my report on the KOQIT V5 H.265 HEVC receiver.

The CNN Newsource feeds on 97W Galaxy 19 are listed in Lyngsat on 11795 H 30000.

The readings for Signal and Quality are relative readings to compare with other signals received on the same receiver. You can't really compare them to other receivers.
Hi, ok, I knew they were out there since I remember them moving over from the SES 2 sat. I was watching them before the foliage came in this past spring. Since moving the dish to another spot, I am able to get a good signal, not the best, yet, but 68 channels worth but cannot receive them 7 channels I use to get, then news feeds that came up once in a while, unless it's still my quality of signal still until all the leaves come down. I have that transponder in the unit, but not a spec of signal from it. Far as the signal readings between different receivers, both of these are the same vendor. When I, some time back, compared between my HELLO and GTMedia units, both were pretty close in levels. Between these 2 new KOQIP units, big difference. Thanks

I scanned 97W just now and it resulted in 109 channels total with about 86 TV and 23 radio. Some channels scan in more than once from the same or a different transponder. Quality numbers range from about 10 dB up to about 13 dB. The CNN Newsource channels are the lowest quality. So it could just be your foliage getting in the way.

I do remember when they moved to G19 that they were lower than the rest of them, sad since they are live news feeds. What receiver are you using that gives that dB level? and ya, probably right on the foliage. Anyone know how to kill a useless leave tree? Its just 2 branches at the tree preventing a 100% clear view. Thanks for the Sat check, 109 channels, can't wait to get back to them numbers again. I watch a lot of the CGTN Documentary channel and the Global news CNTN channel.

Hello folks, well my luck ran out last week with a nasty thunderstorm and after 39 years here, finally took a hit. Now, the FTA receivers I had for some years worked great until now. Recently picked up a fairly cheap receiver, online, KOQIT and seems to be good, but for the life of me, I cannot get the HDMI output to work with 3 of my Samsung monitors. I can hook it up to my Samsung TV and its HDMI input and it works fine. The 2 receivers I lost also worked fine with them, so am I going crazy? anyone have come across this or have any suggestions? And, since this is a somewhat cheap unit but works, what is everyone out there using for receivers these days? without breaking the bank? I enjoy watching FTA TV, so I will invest more if needed, what is a really good, detailed unit these days. I'm so use to watching a few of them HD channels. Right now I'm down to composite hookups, yuck! Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Frank
Take the cover off, show me pics of the board of the bad one and also the bottom of the board. I'm an old hardware electronics tech plus a satellite dealer; I fixed a lot of FTA and regular receivers. I may be able to fix it for you. And yes, they got hit by lightning; it's best to email me the pics at diamondsatellite@snet.net or call me at 203-232-8888. I give you a 50-50 chance of fixing it; I do have spare parts. my phone is a fliptop phone

...What receiver are you using that gives that dB level?...
The Edision osmio4k+ gives signal quality readings in dB. This Edision model is no longer available new but there are other new Edisions. The unique characteristic of mine is that it contains two receivers in one box. Plus I plug a Hauppauge USB OTA receiver into a USB port. So I get three receivers in one box. Plus it allows me to stream from the Internet and view things like youtube.

Currently, 25 DVB transponders have been found. Some are unlocked, they may be DSS or DC.

Sure, as I said, there is hope. Also, tell me if the fuse is blown. You may not even see it; they make fuses that look like resistors. I must have had 25 lightning stories that would blow your mind—the oddest one being the C-band feed melted and a hole in the ground was so deep I dropped a small stone into it I never heard it hit bottom

Wasn't that the Mother of All
Bamboo that made that hole?
;)
It was only a one-inch rock, but I never heard it bottom. I worked at a reported house that was haunted. Last day on the job just before Halloween, no wind was blowing. I'm installing a lighting specialty thing—forgot its name—but that 10-foot dish was right in front of a large oak in a big lawn I was sure would get hit. They paid extra as I was working. All of a sudden, without any wind, a huge funnel of leaves picked up about 300 feet away and headed right toward me. "Oh crap," I said, "I must be having a damn bad dream." As it got about 5 feet from me, it fell apart. I was already fully paid; got my ass the hell out of that place. It was a very huge house owned by a rich crazy person who was a nudist. They had family pics all around the house with their kids all in the nude at some nudist camp. Plus, they kept the house at 80 degrees, and she wanted it for adult porn. Trust me, I did weird jobs for some special people, even famous ones.

I knew a guy who worked for the power company; he told me if a customer would not let them cut a tree, they would drive a rod down next to the tree and throw some pills in where the hole was made. In 2 years, the tree died. Try asking AI.
Must have been some good stuff, wonder what it was? but that's the idea I'm going with, somehow kill it off slowly, covertly.

I love that stuff. I buy approximately 50% strength jugs at Tractor Supply. Slow to act, but then DEAD is DEAD!

But does it work against bamboo?_

The bottle discusses dilution percentages, often per acre. For each targeted "weed" and the crop.

I've come to use one cup poison per gallon of water. Might try less than that next time. I found 1/4 cup has limited effect. Give it a few days to see browning.

If I ever have a bamboo problem, and they don't sell "Gary in a can" - then I'm calling YOU!

:D

Where did all the feeds go?

Anyone have a spare motor to sell or any suggestions?
