Last year the Lions became the first team to finish with a perfect 0-16 record. There is one record that they don't own though. The Buccaneers own the record for the most consecutive losses at 26 (set in 1976 and 1977). Will they be able to attain this record? Here is their schedule:

Wk Date Game
1 Sep 13 DET 27 @ NO 45

Wk Date Game Stadium Time (ET) Tickets
2 Sep 20 MIN @ DET Ford Field
3 Sep 27 WAS @ DET Ford Field
4 Oct 04 DET @ CHI Soldier Field
5 Oct 11 PIT @ DET Ford Field
6 Oct 18 DET @ GB Lambeau Field
7 Bye
8 Nov 01 STL @ DET Ford Field
9 Nov 08 DET @ SEA Qwest Field
10 Nov 15 DET @ MIN Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome
11 Nov 22 CLE @ DET Ford Field
12 Nov 26 GB @ DET Ford Field
13 Dec 06 DET @ CIN Paul Brown Stadium
14 Dec 13 DET @ BAL M&T Bank Stadium
15 Dec 20 ARI @ DET Ford Field
16 Dec 27 DET @ SF Candlestick Park
17 Jan 03 CHI @ DET Ford Field

They would tie the record by losing to the Vikings on 11/15. The one major obstacle the I see is their home game against the Rams on 11/1.

What do the rest of you think?

If they dont beat the Vikes next week it will be a looooooong and record setting season for them

wouldnt that be amazing if they tie the record the 2nd game against the Vikes then win the next week?

A tie wouldn't sit well with me. I want to see them achieve absolute victory (for record consecutive losses)!

If it wasn't for a game in 2007 against KC the Lions would already be at 25 straight loses. They only won that game by 5 points (25 - 20). That was the year that they started 6-2 and then finished a whopping 1-7.

They'll beat St. Louis easily.

The Lions at least actually showed some effort; the Rams, OTOH, did nothing and looked pathetic. It made me wonder:

1. How they beat the Cowboys and Redskins in back-to-back weeks, I'll never know.

2. Do you think Steve Spagnuolo is having buyer's remorse?

"I predict - - - - pain."

4-12 and that's a stretch, I figure they can't lose all 16 again, could they???

That first game looked a lot like last year games; flat out no defense, running game, or chance on offense coming from behind all the time.

Not sure they can even afford to pay another top 5 draft pick again.

Well, the Lions were failing by ten points in their quest to continue "the streak," but they made the mistakes that they needed to down the stretch to assure another loss. They host the Redskins on Sunday, and by the looks of things, the Redskins might have enough to lose to them. If they do manage another loss on Sunday, things are looking very challenging for the streak to continue against the Rams on 11/1.
