In fact, pretty soon Dish will be the only provider not to carry Univision or Telefutura in HD - check out the official announcement from Directv: DIRECTV: HD Channel Lineup

Who's to say it doesn't get added between now and then? The way your quote sounds it's as if Dish has publicly refused to carry the channels. I haven't heard any evidence to support that. Given the way that Dish has been adding HD lately, it wouldn't surprise me to see these added before the wrold cup this summer.

Also, I highly doubt Dish will be the "only" provider. Do you mean to say the channels will be on every single cable system nationwide? I don't think so.

Ever wonder what will happen when all HD channels are being broadcast on Dish...What will we discuss then? What will E* & D* do to up one each other then?

Ah...to dream!

There'll always be the next step in technology. Whether it's 3D or integrated web streaming or something that we can't even imagine at this point. We'll always yearn for more, it's human nature. :)

Great list. So how many HD channels are there currently including RSNs? I am wondering because I think a lot of folks would be surprised on how many CONUS TPs Dish would need to use to carry all of these HD channels.

I believe 11 more CONUS TPs could do all the non foreign channels (assuming they use the 2 TPs they already use for RSN part time). There are about 90-95 possible channels they could put in HD, they have 2 TPs for the part time RSNs. At 7 (or 8) HD/TP that they seem to like, 13 TPs would be needed.

I do not see them having this capacity until they convert WA to 8PSK. Once they do that, they could have the capacity free up. I do not see the capacity contraints on EA (assuming the next launch is successful and E6 can fill in until then).

Fox Soccer Plus HD (not to be confused with Fox Soccer Channel HD) is not available on Dish Network yet. It is only broadcasted in SD.

NASA HD is only part time for the shuttles. I've been able to see it on C-Band but after that the channel will disappear until a new shuttle is launched

My bad, I meant to say in the NYC Metro area - Comcast does carry these channels in Plainfield system and will carry them on Union system in May. Cablevision carries them. Time Warner Carries them. VZ Fios carries them. Directv will carry them. I am not sure about AT&T - maybe Scott can help.

In any event, I was TRYING TO HELP. I have pointed out a few times already the fact that Univision HD, Telemundo HD and Telefutura HD DO EXIST already. They've already ceased to be SD channels to be launched, that's all.

I find very interesting the fact that someone points out the launch of CSN California HD and, presto, it becomes part of the list of channels in HD not available. But when I and another poster let u know that these 3 HD hispanic channels have already been launched, no action is taken...

In fact, I have a feeling that Dish may lauch Univision and Telefutura in HD prior to the World Cup, so that the latino subscribers don't have to rely on the awful ESPN commentators.... Heck, I am not a latino but I'd rather listen to the "GOOLLLLL"guy than to Marcelo Balboa....

At the present time, 3D appears to be the next possible candidate for a "List of ... not available" :) I mean, there has been already a little I'm-one-step-ahead-of-you going on in the 3D technology - IT all started when D* announced the launch of the 4 or so 3D channels in June. Then Comcast kinda stole their thunder with the Masters in 3D, but Cablevision beat them all(not that Cablevision really competes against COmcast) by showing a Rangers game in 3D.

In fact, I am really curious if Dish has any plans to show 3D content - I can't recall reading them. TO my surprise, Fios is also late in the 3D game, their announcement said something like later/end of the year.
