Watched a little of the College Basketball game on Espn3D tonight, looked pretty good to me...

Watched a little of the Oceana Air Show, (up to the F16's) pretty cool but I wish they would catch the planes taking off (maybe they did and I haven't gotten that far)...

I just wish D* used the mandatory format so I can watch it on the JVC upstairs. Evidently ESPN says they send both T/B and SbS to D*. I think DOn says he has the same problem with his Sony.

I watched about half of Alice in Wonderland, has good effects and I got into the story where I tried before and couldn't (but I was kind of saving for 3D )

The NBA game from a couple of weeks ago and the College game last night had some good stuff on the court during the breaks... the cheerleaders etc.. and it is nice to watch sports without tickers ruining the screen.

There's the problem right there. 720 SbS is an optional format. ESPN is sending them the mandatory T/B along with the SbS. D* needs to use it. MAybe then I could watch it upstairs on the big screen.

Its def side by side. When I hit info on my Mitsu it'll say thats what it is, then there taking the glasses off

Wouldn't be a problem if they were doing 1080i SbS as that is a mandatory format as is 720p T/B. 720p SbS is not. I know my Panasonic accepts it. My JVC will not. Haven't heard from Don in a while about his Sony.

I wasnt aware of standards for each type were set to a certain rez. Weird that Directv would choose a non standard format.

Don't have D* so I couldn't say. Check the AVS 90ES thread. Someone there must have tried it.

Caught NASCAR last night & today, I liked ... it varied quite a bit in 3DPQ but all in all was good imho..
