Looking to buy a new setup

Hello guys. I have been out of the game for several years since buying a new house, but now ready to get back in the game!


I need some advice on what would be the best setup I can get.


I am looking for a minimum 36" dish with a motor and the best possible lnb on the market. I am also wanting to know what is the best or some recommended receivers that can pick up 4:2:2 and also do a blind scan.



I have seen this gtmedia kit for around $130. Is that receiver doing a full blind scan and does it pick up all feeds, even 4:2:2?



I see a new motor out there that is around $200. Is it really that much better than a basic motek or other $130 motor?



I have bought from electorica in the past and was not happy. They seem to be the only company selling any 1 meter dishes, which it was really closer to a 36 inch dish.


Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I am also interested in anyone selling equipment close to my area. I live in Crossville, Tennessee.

The GTMedia GTX Combo does play 4:2:2 natively. It also blind scans. For complex 4:2:2 feeds you will need to stream to a computer. This receiver is about $135 on Ebay.

Probably the best LNB you can get right now is the Bullseye TCXO, although it might be overkill depending on what you're wanting to receive.

A 90cm dish is ok, but a 1.2m would be better.

KU motors are a pain in the butt, if you can even find one. I'll let other members make recommendations on those.

There's this, if you are up to a road trip, or have somebody in that area and can meet halfway or something: FOR SALE - 10' C-band and 1.2m Ku dishes, etc.

Somewhere around 2008 I bought a 90cm dish for $50 from 3ABN. $15 for a single output LNBF. Shipped. It was made by AzureShine who to the best of my knowledge also made or still makes the GeoSatPRO. That dish was pointed on 125W for the PBS feeds until they moved. I still have that dish but I've sort of lost interest in FTA. Generally speaking, I've lost interest in television.

$800 bucks plus $120 shipping? Crazy. You can buy the dish from satelliteav for $250 and shipping probably adds another $250-$300. I was lucky when I lived in California and was able to stop by their shop and just buy the dish, which was about 1/2 the price back then.
